I sincerely hope so.
My comment about events elsewhere in the city alluded to media attention focussing, rightly, on that, rather than any transport issues. Network Rail themselves, though, did mention those events in their piece to the Liverpool Echo.
Will lessons be learned by Network Rail from their shambolic management on the day? I very much doubt it, particularly as they have a "get out of jail free" card, with all that happened in the tragic events in Water Street.
Thanks to the member of station staff for that insight.
It makes it all the more worrying that some incident logs appear to be clearly false, as noted above, regarding train loadings. How will Network Rail improve their planning, implementation and performance of these events, if wrong data is...
There is something in today's Liverpool Echo <https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/network-rail-issues-statement-over-31732007>, but nothing in detail about the shambles at Lime Street. Just the usual anodyne Network Rail statement about being sorry for any inconvenience etc etc
As others have mentioned:
1. No way would Bath lose its 2-tph direct to Padd. Too big a market.
2. Designs for OHLE through Bath/Sydney Gdns were approved/signed-off. Just the curtailing of the project by Grayling / lack of £££ led to its no-go.
Has the impasse over Chippenham footbridge now...
With thoughts of Hillsborough still deeply ingrained in the minds of many Liverpudlians, surely kettling people like this is no way to treat folk.
I know it's very easy to blame others without all the facts; maybe I'm falling into that trap. Though clearly the railway got it wrong this time in...
And with all the new housing developments in and around Parley (near the airport), maybe have a new Bournemouth - Parley - Airport route? Like they've just done to serve new housing at Bearwood - route #11.
Just a thought. Now that the #6 between Wimborne and Bournemouth runs half-hourly, could not one of the half-hourly #13 make a detour from Parley to serve the airport?
Not at all. I wouldn't say "limited flights" by any means.
The bus "service" just appears to be for the needs of airport workers, judging by the timings.
This is the entire "service" to Bournemouth Airport, provided by MoreBus; appropriately their 737 route:
Bournemouth Westover Road dep 0550 and 0635
Bournemouth Airport dep 1335, 1620 and 1800
No buses on Saturdays, Sundays or Public Holidays. Speaks for itself, really...
