I’ve passed the first stage however when I tried to book the second stage the dates were already full. They’ve said further dates will be released, I just hope I don’t have to wait for months for these dates to come out!

They'll arrange more dates I assume in that January. Hopefully with a week notice so one can book annual leave off.

How often do C2C take on qualified drivers and what’s the recruitment process like?

They said about a year ago that they have no intentions of doing it again as they prefer people that are trained "their way".

Samzino, I just read the above. Good luck with the stage 2 tests tomorrow and Friday.
Are you currently working in any other role for a TOC or have done in the past?
I am sure this driver role at c2c will be very good after getting through all of the training period.

That's correct - they only take on trainee drivers these days.

Ah thanks, I am currently working as CSA equivalent with a London TOC. I won't be doing stage 2 this week but I believe the final week of Jan.

I've been lucky enough to have been given an interview date (I passed Enhanced OPC tests last year with another TOC, before they decided I lived too far away (It was under an hour!!)),

C2C's recruitment portal is a bit confusing, as mine says "Withdrawn form shortlist", so was surprised when emailed with interview dates.

I'm a bit nervous about it! C2C are the first TOC to give me a CBI - Any tips?

I didn't think c2c do CBI, I'm sure it's MMI then DM unless it's been changed since.

Most likely a DMI, assuming you've passed with LO who did the MMI already.
I passed the MMI with LO when up at OPC Watford.

The c2c competency based interview is with managers, I’m guessing the terms are used interchangeably to asses skills and suitability.

You’re right, that’s what they call their DMI interview. I was recently invited to one with them but due to distance I’ll probably withdraw but how comes you ain’t going with LO? They do pay more than c2c

LO withdrew me stating "Not within the required distance for depots advertised" - Apparently a 50 minute drive (door to door) was too far. Which is laughable as my current commute can take up-to 2 hours...

A friend has advised some TOCs are leaning towards average commute of 45 minutes as part of fatigue management.

Well you’ve gone straight to DMI with c2c, so fingers crossed, you’ll get the trainee driver job with them. Especially before that 45 minute rules comes into effect.

Got through Stage 1 and Stage 2 and got offered an interview. The issue is they offered me one date for the interview which I’m unavailable for as it’s been given to me a with less than a weeks notice. I’ve asked if there’s anymore dates available but they said if I can’t make this date then I’d have to apply again the next time the job advert comes out .

They don't get much better when you start the training, apparently!

Congrats for passing both stages, bummer you can't make the sent date however. Might be a chance they send another date but If it is possible even in the slightest, try make the date sent.

Cheers mate, they’ve pretty much said it’s the last date available but there’ll be another intake a bit later on this year most likely so they’d keep my details stored for that. I’m attempting to make it but I’m abroad for my birthday so seeing if I could afford another flight that would get me back in time is the issue.

Ah I see no worries bro, at least they've offered to keep your details for the next intake, hopefully it all aligns. Got mine booked soon and just managed to clear the day else I would have also had to pull out.

Mate it’s a life changing job and massive opportunity, I’d do anything and everything to attend that interview. That’s just my personal opinion.

Hi all,

I'm in the limbo of awaiting the outcome of the interview - good luck to anyone else in that position! Does anybody happen to know if an example roster is available anywhere (i.e. rest day patterns)?

How did you find the interview mate? Do you think it went well?

I hope so! I think so, hard to tell sometimes though. Both the interviewers were very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be with the company. There were one or two questions where they did pile on the pressure hard. But I think that is to be expected, a big part of it to my understanding is seeing how you cope with that. Fingers crossed.

I read about your issues with the date clash - bad luck for the timing. That said, if they have already indicated that they would keep you close for future interviews that sounds very encouraging!

Sounds like it went well! Good luck with it, hopefully you get some positive news soon regarding it.

I’ve been in touch with them and they stated that I’d be guaranteed an interview the next time that they advertise for the position if I’m unable to attend this time around.

Week of early followed by week of lates. Constantly alternating.

Rest days and annual leave all allocated on the roster. A small amount of ad-hoc days can be taken when you choose providing there aren't already too many people off.

Diagrams are either very intense or hardly doing anything. Nothing really in the middle.

Earliest book on was about 03:40 from memory, latest book off was about 02:00 on occasion but normally around 01:00.

Thank you for the info! Hope you don't mind me asking but I have looked and am not able to find this info, are they operating on a four-day week?

I managed to get back and have just had my interview. £200 down but I’m happy I done it, now the nervous wait but they said I should find out in the next couple of weeks for a potential March or May start date if successful.

For what it’s worth I think you made the right choice. Good luck and fingers crossed!

It's a waiting game indeed now.

-Old Post Above, New Post Below-

Good morning all, did anyone here who reached DMI stage still have a DMI to do or is it safe to assume all DMIs are done and its now awaiting the email / call for the news?

Have you had yours? How do you think it went?
