A welcome decision however, the reason this train is so busy is that it’s the first “Super off peak” direct service to Penzance. But a change to fares restrictions that was supposed to start Monday means the 10:03 from Paddington to Penzance (1C80) will become Super off peak. Meaning this service will surely become the busiest service and needing a “relief“ train and not the 12:03.
The 10.03 already has a reduced calling pattern and departures before at 09.37 and after at 10.35.
The 11.37 is the missing train - that slot is not available on weekdays on the Berks & Hants for passenger trains. This is part of the reason the 12.03 is so busy as it’s been an hours gap before hand.
