020 has years worth of mileage left whereas 021 is now very low. I strongly suspect this is a typo barring a major fault with 020, especially as it is in service today whereas 021 is not.

507003 is on the Ormskirk line for the second day running, forming the 14.46 from Central at the moment. Always good to see one on an interesting, and now rare, route.

I have to say though, 003's acceleration is terrible and its ride quality is rough too. The slowest one left without a doubt. This unit was a barnstormer prior to overhaul, too!
Travelled on 003 today to Ormskirk, gotta agree with you it sounded awful at times, but at least it got us there.

Indeed, it was about twelve times more likely (no exaggeration) to get you home than a 777 going by the most recent figures I have.

Well, I stand corrected: it looks like it is indeed 020 and 031 withdrawn. The former unit was visible inside North depot earlier appearing to be finished. I assume there must be an underlying problem with 020 to see it off earlier than expected.

It does seem strange when 021 is low on mileage and suffering from a significant power problem leaving stations, whilst 014 is very tired sounding indeed now.

Also, a 777 has dropped out on the Southport line with 507029 having to split from 507010 in order to form the 16.27 from the Port.

507021 doesn't seem to struggle for time in my experience, even on the Chester line, but I do find it bizarre that there seems little interest in fixing the problem.

It was late on my last couple of rides but only by a minute or so. I suppose we shouldn't be too surprised they haven't fixed it. 507001, for instance, has had a pronounced wheel flat in coach 64405 since October last year.

I was trying to remember if 507 021 was one of the two trains involved in the Kirkby crash that occurred this month in 2021. On checking Wikipedia it only mentions 507 006. I knew the crash was this month but what I had forgotten was the crash was 3 years ago today.

It was 507021. Confirmed in the RAIB report.

I'm very surprised 021 has had a reprieve, but I expect it'll only be a very brief one. In related news, the 507 railtour has been postponed until the summer.

Just to add to that. 507003 is running for a failed 777 on Southports, started with diagram 2S00 :)

Edit: It has been noted this was a substitution due to where the available units finished last night. The 777 didn’t fail as I imagined earlier

507015 is back in service after a few weeks' absence. It is currently forming the 1012 Southport - Hunts X service with 507028.

2U40 looks to of split at southport with one unit working 5T64 to kirkdale, chance it’s going onto ormskirks to replace a failed 777 (who’s surprised)

507016 is having issues on nbn :38s, looks to of failed the trip tester at north

507029 comes to the rescue on an shambolic day on the Southport line for the 777s. Currently working 2S46. On my way to work I noted 777028 should have been operating this service but has since appeared on Ormskirks

777s are always shambolic, i once noted 15 failures in a day
They had a alright week up to this week in terms of reported faults. Today however they have struggled for sure. I do think the latest software update which includes the new announcements is making a difference

507003 on ormskirks 3 days in a row, constant 507s on 777 diagrams, proves which fleet is better and more reliable
We get you like 50x, but the reality is they’ll be gone by May, and no amount of moaning about the trains replacing them will change that. We just have to make the best of the situation we’ve got and hope they settle down. The 755s were hopeless for their first few months (good thing they had far more than was needed) and are now some of Britain’s most reliable.
