No point. 16 years old and severe fire damage. One way trip to Barnsley.
Indeed. Picture from Cornwall Live.

I was a little surprised to see 36175 still with almost full Network Norwich branding yesterday out and about on the U4.

Also, have to say 37177 is a rather fine vehicle. Smooth, fast and quite a tidy interior in this one.

Just seen short Solo 53861 on the U1A. Absolutely wedged and showing "Sorry bus full".

FK's engineering crisis, resulting in any bus on any route has been going on for about 18 months now.

Meanwhile, Camborne seems to be fairly full of Volvo’s this morning.

Apologies if the photos aren’t loading by the way, WiFi on GWR doesn’t seem to be very strong today.

The majority of those Volvos lined up are now withdrawn, presumably being stripped for usable parts to keep the rest running.

Same in Somerset, ever since the workshops were closed in Bridgwater and Yeovil. Cancellations every day due to lack of serviceable vehicles.

Not a reasonable excuse for failing to operate services, operators must have sufficient buses and drivers to maintain their timetables.

It Often generates questions around the financial standing if too many vehicles are VOR for too long (based on percentage of fleet)

Either way, it's a management decision to close workshops and intentionally not resource an operation with vehicles. The traffic commissioner is sure to make an example of them when they are called in. And frankly they deserve everything they get.

Just last week there were 4 single deckers allocated on the U1 / U1A in one day
They seem to have got it down to 1 or 2 now, but intelligently put them on the runs which cover the am and pm Newquay college services

They need to get their act together before the EVs arrive.

Let's not forget that WebberBus lost their Taunton Park and Ride contract from Somerset County Council in 2016 owing to 'missing and late' buses which precipitated their financial collapse two years later and First Somerset 'winning' that bus war. Now the First Goliath does what they usually do when they've got the monopoly and treat the public with disdain. Yet public authorities, including Traffic Commissioners, never seem to judge the big boys by the same rigid rules. Funny that....

Aren't you mixing your drinks here?

It is relatively simple for a local authority (or any other contracting entity) to remove a contract on the grounds of performance.

However, it is much more protracted for a traffic commissioner to take action against an operator.

And of course there's no evidence whatsoever that small operators are judged more harshly than the large ones.

Over the past couple of decades just about every First OpCo has been called in front of the TCs for one reason or other and one of the most recent high profile cases involved Stagecoach Devon.

Does anyone know when the next B9s are due into Cornwall? Most of the Blue/Turquoise Lines still seem to be out and about in service in Norwich, so was just wondering.

Good question. I had assumed that it was the influx of EVs that would displace them. However the 59 Streetdecks have been in service for a while now, with just 11 Kites awaited.

This suggests it's not the EVs displacing them, but an inward cascade from somewhere else.

Only 10 in total due from Norwich. The rest are from 2 different parts of Yorkshire

Mix of 2009 and and 2012 from the different bits of Yorkshire
That would be a sensible mix. Together with the buses a already in the fleet it would mean that Cornwall ends up with a spread of B9TLs ranging from 12-17 years old thus allowing gradual replacement over a few years.

Thanks for the detail. As you say it might very well change again. The 12-plate ones would only be about 4.5 years older than the first batch of MMCs.

Maybe it's been around and I just haven't seen it, but a Sunseeker branded bus was optimistically allocated to the Atlantic Coaster service today, May Day.

Would have guessed the older vehicles like the old e200s. 44077/44079 and the other 58 plates. Also believe Buses Of Somerset are gonna get some ex Leeds streetlites.
Remembered this from a while ago - will some of the Streelites currently coming off the Bee Network be joining the BOS fleet?
