Speculation: East Yorkshire to launch competition on York - Selby route?

He's ex-railway so interesting he wants to compete with it now!

Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

I think it's slow but considering it's pretty much all been done in standard overnight possession opportunities plus it's all new track and new signals done at the same time plus the spans required to bridge a four track railway it's not too bad.

How difficult is it to arrive or leave at all timetabled platforms. 5 year project to achieve this.

Batley East was installed Feb 2023 and padlocked out of use then and commissioned in June 2023 and has been in working order since. It'll get plenty of use over the next 5 years.

As discussed in the GoS derailment thread - they are not cleared and therefore stuck.

    Where has a 195 been?

A 195 running on the Harrogate Line this evening... https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:N07790/2024-04-03/detailed#allox_id=0

    Northern Short Forming Again

Unfortunately 4x3 car 195s stuck at Barrow plus the two damaged in the derailment. Leaves a bit short of three cars.

    Where has a 195 been?

To correct some of the above I know at least one run Leeds to Bradford FS in service with a 195 alongside the full 6 car test run mentioned above, one also went to Hadfield/Glossop and also the Penistone on a test run back in 2022ish. Alongside the Harrogate Line test run they have also made it...

    Grand Central stranding passengers (28/03)?

Kirkgate is blocked this weekend for Engineering work. The plan before the landslip was for services to start at Streethouse however with the landslip in situ they've diverted to York. 1711906578 Correct, based in Manchester.

    Grand Central stranding passengers (28/03)?

Notice the 1523 Kings Cross to Sunderland and 1550 Kings Cross to York (vice Streethouse) both cancelled with advice to catch the 1653 Sunderland. Three trains worth of people on one might be cosy!

[Travia] Longest gap between a train and rail replacement bus and vice versa

As I mentioned in another thread Grand Central have a 4hr 2min connection between train and bus at Doncaster today. Bus from Wakefield arrives 09:20 connecting with the 13:22 train (the bus misses the previous train at 09:11).

Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

As well as bridge work there is Track renewals, station canopy works at Huddersfield as well as lots of little bits like boreholes, filling mine workings etc.

    Realtime trains

The trains shown in RTT are shown as unadvertised so not for passenger use. Must be some kind of testing or something.

    Grand Central stranding passengers (28/03)?

Grand Central's amended weekend plan due to the Pontefract Landslip shows similar lack of care for the customer. Services should have run from Streethouse but instead are starting at York and the connections between RRB and train are nonexistent. For example Sunday a bus leaves Wakefield...

    Calder Valley Loop

It has. Mainly because there isn't enough trains diverted per hour to make it required (as is being proved as we speak).
