    Railcard

If the OP doesn't have a history of buying discounted tickets before being caught. Then chances are they think he's continued to buy discounted tickets after being questioned. Which should be sorted once they see the copy of railcard purchased for all subsequent travel.

    Travel Fraud Investigation

Now that's been pointed out, the story has changed to them car sharing / getting lifts. It's pretty clear OP has been short faring regularly, and now caught is trying to come up with a story to convince WMR it was a one off and they happened to get caught the first time they short fared.

    Travel Fraud Investigation

The obvious question that comes to mind is... If you were on Aston to New Street trip, you'll have known you needed a ticket from further away. If you were traveling New Street to Aston, why would you over travel if your car is parked near Aston station? If it was genuinely a one off, then...

Freedome Pass Misuse - Advise Needed

I recommend you don't lie in your letter. You don't have to admit to using it for longer in the letter, but what you do write needs to be honest. You could potentially end up being summonsed to court, lying in court has far harsher penalties than fare evasion.

Freedome Pass Misuse - Advise Needed

If you've been using it longer than the week you claim then be careful how you word your reply as you're already in enough trouble without digging an even bigger hole for yourself.

Freedome Pass Misuse - Advise Needed

So if your father in law was making the same trips to "your workplace", then you must have been making trips previous to the week you were caught on your own oyster card? If so, you could send proof of your own paid for trips as evidence you haven't used the freedom pass for more than a week.

EMR Doors not opening whilst on Train

Having worked 170s previously, this did occasionally happen. The units originally released the doors as soon as Guard pressed the 2 release buttons together. To mitigate against wrong side door release they then installed a 2 second timer, so you had to keep door release buttons pressed for a...

    Single justice procedure notice HELP!!!

The letter was attached later. Originally all we knew was the OP was dealing with XC who wouldn't discuss the matter with him, so I suggested "trying" TIL as that may have been more fruitful.

Fare evasion accusation on Great Northern

Seems as though he did tell you what they needed them for.

Raising the alarm when witnessing a crush at a station

There was some chaos at Euston last night, that could possibly have triggered the question.

    Penalty Fare Notice

What did you tell them your age was? If you said 15, then 2007 makes it possible for you to be 15.

Penalty Fare due to phone issues

Happens here more often than you'd think. I know from personal experience (a few years ago now) having reported atleast 3 separate passengers who have come here and told a very different story/conversation to what actually happened onboard. I think it's partly to come across as being more honest...

The timing of a card transaction made at a TVM.

Your posts read as though you 'don't' want them to be able to find out what time you bought the ticket. If that is the case, be careful how you reply to any letter they send you as you don't want to be caught lying to them as its likely to make matters worse for you.

    Challenge Unpaid fare Notice

CCTV would show you went to ticket office, it wouldn't show what ticket you showed them. Not saying it was, but it could've been the original 18:18 ticket that you may still have had in your app/email.

    Intent to Prosecute

Reading your post, it seems a little contradictory. If you knew your railcard had expired, and you didn't mean to use the discount, then why did you present the expired railcard to the inspector? Surely, when asked for a railcard by the inspector your reaction should've been along the lines...

What is ‘being able to sign a route’ and how did it come about?

But the post I quoted specifically suggested this would be a simple system NOT connected to signalling etc.

What is ‘being able to sign a route’ and how did it come about?

It's a great idea in theory, but wouldn't work. You could be on Slow line with a line speed of 50mph, next to Fast line with a linespeed of 110mph. Sat Nav thinks you're a few metres to the left of current position and tells you to do 100mph instead of 50. You then have differential speeds on...

    Travelling under Child Ticket

Unless of course the OP initially gave a false DOB to try and convince the RPI they were a child, then corrected only after being further questioned by the RPI.

    Pending prosecution

Apparently the OP was £1 short. Another passenger gave them a £1. The TM then stole this £1 and walked off, leaving the passenger a £1 short of the fare again.
