    Footbridge vs underpass

Surely an underpass would have made more sense at the new Reston Station.

Here's a good example, staring at his phone, oblivious.

TRIVIA : Where haven’t Sprinters been?

It's quite feasible for one to have made it to Preston Park (and reverse) when engineering work had shut Hove tunnel, though I don't know if any actually did. 1611275534 Yes, the Brighton - Cardiff service used 156's before the 158's took over. Seen here at West Worthing...

Level Crossings – My idea for a radical new approach

What's to discuss? Your suggestion is completely unworkable and absurd.

    West Worthing Sidings new use?

I'm not sure there is enough room with the substation, plus they would have to relocate the telecom mast/hut. Also if it's just temporary whilst Hove sidings are refurbished, then I doubt it makes financial sense.

Bet that was fun at the level crossing!

Level crossing accident on Arun Valley Line 17/02/18

This crossing is local to me and is set to become busier still with all the new houses going up. It is also the only AHB crossing in the local area, where existing full barrier crossings are closed for fairly long periods. It's likely the misuse is because the road users think they will be...

Level crossing accident on Arun Valley Line 17/02/18

Has this been confirmed yet though? Incidentally, is it normal for services to be split at Horsham, or was this due to the diversion because of engineering works on the coastway?

Level crossing accident on Arun Valley Line 17/02/18

Plenty of locations in the UK have them too. Fire stations, airports etc. https://goo.gl/maps/ToDp4jFpaBr https://goo.gl/maps/VgLYfAkmtH82

Liverpool Disruption 28 Feb 2017 - RAIB report released 30/11/17

Out of interest, the next road along, Mason Street has a small yard with track in it. Anyone know what it's used for? https://goo.gl/maps/6rDygVisCH62

    Train fire Dalston Kingsland

Unlikely to overheat unless being charged or damaged. Possibly being charged from one of the train's (not for public use) sockets?

Derailment near Watford Junction (16 September 2016)

To me it looks like 264 is the derailed unit which is fouling the adjacent line and the other train has scraped along side it causing the damage to the cab.

Derailment near Watford Junction (16 September 2016)

Certainly looks that way. There is lighting equipment above the tunnel mouth and fabric/netting visible. Looks like the bit the has fallen has been cleared but is yet to be netted.

Derailment near Watford Junction (16 September 2016)

Indeed. A train derailing at a tunnel mouth and another train hitting it could have ended up as a catastrophic event. We could have been looking at a real disaster here.

    ROG Class 442 tour

Just curious, why was the tour only booked to go as far as Poole and not all the way to Weymouth?

    Incident at Wandsworth Common 07/08/16

According to Wikipedia the distance between the bogie pivots on a class 442 coach is 16 metres. I have roughly calculated (in Google Earth Pro) that the radius of the curve at the point of the signal gantry post for the down fast signal VC641 south of Balham, as approx 650m to 700m. This is the...
