    EWR, Universal and Wixams

Has it? They don't seem to have withdrawn the planning application (Central Beds CB/22/03616/FULL)

East West Rail project [to be] examined by Transport Committee [on March 6th 2024 from 09:30]

I agree. There's also a new page on their website at https://eastwestrail.co.uk/news/latest-stories/oxford-to-bedford-services-accelerated-as-part-of-spring-budget-investment But it still isn't clear if 1tph Oxford to Bedford will be the only service between Bletchley and Bedford. It also...

East West Rail project [to be] examined by Transport Committee [on March 6th 2024 from 09:30]

East West Rail have published a press release about the reaction to the funding announced in the budget. This is at https://eastwestrail-production.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/public/BAU-Press-Release-Spring-Budget-2024-EWR-Announcement-V02-AH-edits-4.pdf It later says Presumably they mean...

St Pancras safety concerns at top of EMR P1-4 escalator (11/02)

Imagine if they tried to have separate queues for different destinations for the Thameslink platforms!

Wixams (Bedfordshire) station should be built with 4 platforms

That sounds far too sensible. Clearly the council have been told that by someone in the industry (presumably the Network Rail people that they liaising with) that if its a two platform station they can't have services after 2200 unless the council pay for the buses when required. That is why the...

Wixams (Bedfordshire) station should be built with 4 platforms

Luton to Bedford is also a two track railway on Sunday mornings isn't it? I haven't seen anything to say that Bedford Council are underwriting replacement buses for the few times that the fast lines are being used by Thameslink services on Sunday mornings.

Wixams (Bedfordshire) station should be built with 4 platforms

Although it doesn't invalidate your point, Wixams station is actually going to be further north than the circled area on your map. Universal have bought a large area land. Nearly everything that isn't already built on or under water between the Marston Vale Line, Manor Road, the B530 and the...

    Three Bridges/Victoria Automatic Route Setting

Wasn't the Thameslink Programme TMS (Traffic Management System) going to be based at Three Bridges? What happened to that?

    December 2023 Timetable Change

The change on the north side is actually that the 0715 Bedford to Three Bridges gets reinstated and the 0711 Bedford to Elephant & Castle starts from Luton like it used to.

East-West Rail (EWR): Consultation updates [not speculation]

I think it was more "Oh no, they've chosen Route E through Bedford. We'll have to rebuild the station there as soon as Oxford to Bedford starts. We better start with Oxford to Bletchley and rebuild Bedford Station before we do Bedford to Cambridge."

    EMR Class 360's

That's correct. Of the full Thameslink Programme 24tph, 4tph were peak time "faster" services to Bedford all of which were to call at St Albans, Harpenden and Luton. Half were to call at Flitwick and half Leagrave. At present there's a single morning one that calls at Flitwick and a single...

    Kentish Town Stoppers

I think I understand why there are fewer in the evening peak. When the full Thameslink Programme was designed, the idea was that the Kentish Town stoppers would be paired with the Sutton/Wimbledon services like they have been for many years. Unfortunately the original design didn’t take the...

East-West Rail (EWR): Consultation updates [not speculation]

EWR can mean 3 different organisations/groups: 1. East West Rail Consortium. The group of councils and companies that has been campaigning since 1995. They are the ones that came up with the maps showing Norwich and Ipswich 2. East West Rail Alliance. Formed in 2015 by Network Rail, Atkins...

Wixams station speculation, including whether it will be on the EWR, MML, or both lines

You are right. It is why GTR favoured a 4 platform station but obviously that's more expensive which is why they are going for 2 platforms. It will have to be the slows as that's what the existing services use.

    Wixams station progress updates

As posted on another thread, the local councillor has given an update. See https://www.bedfordindependent.co.uk/wixams-station-shunts-one-step-closer-to-2024-opening/
