    What's your latest acquisition?

unsure exactly what the make up is, but it’s brass sides from someone, so you’re probably correct. Do my best to steer well clear of eBay when I’ve had a few sherbets!

    What's your latest acquisition?

Most recent arrival was a speculative eBay purchase. A Bachmann 4CEP in rebuilt form in South West Trains livery. Had been converted from an original CEP and repainted / heavily weathered by Emperors Path (see YouTube & Instagram) I was the only bidder and got it for just over £200 DCC fitted...

    Football

The race for the final promotion spot looking very interesting now with Charlton thrashing Wycombe earlier. Wrexham on 86, Wycombe on 84 & Charlton on 82. Most significantly, Charlton play Wrexham next weekend!

As it's the odds to be relegated this season, I'd say the timeframe was until the end of the current season.

To be relegated. Given we are still awaiting the results of the 115 (or whatever it is) charges, there is always a chance of them being relegated / expelled from the league. Interestingly, I've also seen Brighton and Newcastle with odds for relegation despite it not being mathematically...

    Thameslink Super Off-Peak Travelcards

Apologies, was referring to Travelcards. The option for one when buying from a machine didn’t come up yesterday (despite selecting Gatwick as the origin station) Came up when choosing from Three Bridges though. Since seen that Super Off Peak Travelcards are still available from Gatwick, so not...

    Thameslink Super Off-Peak Travelcards

Correct, Three Bridges doesn't however Gatwick does (and Super Off Peaks are available from there)

    Thameslink Super Off-Peak Travelcards

Seems it is only this weekend the Super off peak isn’t available from Gatwick (For whatever reason). Wasn’t available when I travelled yesterday and still isn’t today (as far as I can see). Available again from next weekend though. Fully aware they are valid at Horley (I get the train from...

    Thameslink Super Off-Peak Travelcards

At weekends, if I want a travelcard from my local station (Horley), the cheapest ticket I can get is an off-peak travelcard. However, if you go from Three Bridges*, there is the option of a cheaper super off-peak travelcard (even though you are further away). So two questions, 1 - is there a...

    Football

Penalty by Saka last night was poor as well. Scoring that would’ve put the game to bed straight away. No idea why he decided to try and chip the keeper instead of just whacking it. All came good in the end (made up for it with a goal), but it could’ve turned out very differently.

Driving behaviour when emergency vehicles are approaching.

I get your point, but they are doing the correct thing. You can be prosecuted forgoing through a red light, even if it is to let a blue light vehicle through.

    Football

? They are 13 & 14 points clear of Wrexham & Wycombe, and they each have 4 games left. Think Birmingham may be champions already!

    Remaining Southern Slam Door Stock

Thanks for the info. At least they’ve been put out of their misery! Are the 3 carriages from VOP 3918 the ones paired with a CIG MBSO somewhere?

    Remaining Southern Slam Door Stock

Pretty sure there are a couple of CIG vehicles (in faded SWT livery) still at Barrow Hill (Driving trailer + intermediate trailer). They are from formerly complete units that were originally ’preserved’ at Eastleigh with the intention to return them to the mainline, they were subsequently used...

Driving well below the speed limit

Prefer people to have that attitude from a selfish point of view! I drive on said motorway very regularly and have my cruise control set to 65. (Better fuel economy, costs Me less than 5 minutes compared to 70). As most of the slower drivers sit in lane 2, i can quite happily cruise in lane 1...

    Returning to OO model trains

I expect reducing to one coach was to keep costs down. Seem to remember that these coaches were in the ‘bargain bins’ recently, so have all been sold off. ebay is probably the easiest place to find them, however at trade fairs you may be able to find them cheaper.

    Global Airlines launch flights announced

Looking at how BA have fared with the reliability of its 380's after a period of storage, I can't see this 380 being the most reliable aircraft around. Maybe that's why its planned to have 4 day layovers! 1742987054 9H-MIP was ex Singapore Airlines. A very early one at that.

Driving well below the speed limit

Expect it is to do with the technology for detecting blocked lanes isn't yet fully back up and running. The M23 was the same a few years back when it was upgraded to all lane running. All the lanes were open and clear of cones, yet the 50 remained for a month or so while the cameras were being...
