Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

That is quite a surprise, never thought I would see any service serve Waverly Bridge again. See no reason as to why Bright Bus has to also serve Waverly Bridge since I thought having it run via Waterloo Place was more convenient.

Yeah sorry but I doubt I could ever see that happening I'm afraid. :D appreciate the ambition but the route is already one of the longest in Lothian history. That's true I never considered that, I suppose, although how big is the Eve Coach depot in Dunbar anyway?

Could they not keep both depots? Especially for the first/last journeys on the X5/124. I can't imagine them running out to Dunbar at 1am with dead milage, I could imagine the X7/106 moving to Dunbar at least.

Hope so, I know it's bound to happen, despite this however there is no mention of these services or Eve on the Lothian website.

Probably nothing major untill then, saying that there is still the council tenders and a potential expansion for West Lothian? It's been almost 6 months since LCB expanded and surely a timetable increase should be on the cards soon.

    Lothian group (Network/Route Speculation)

True, we could end up getting something combined or short and direct. Guess we won't know till an official announcement will be made in a few months.

I was wondering that aswell, I'm sure I was told the 43 was operating with council support back in 2017 but it could just be a rumour!

    Lothian group (Network/Route Speculation)

I know but this is a speculation forum specifically, but saying that it's not like we can't discuss what is already confirmed either. :D I believe depending on what is going on, they could either keep it as it is confirmed or merge another tender route or run the remainder of it commercially...

    Lothian group (Network/Route Speculation)

Good to see the forum back and active! Could see this working! Would it literally be the 20 route as it is except missing out ASDA Chesser and then the 4/44 route to town? Guessing it is the 63 route to Sighthill but then follow the 35 route to Chesser? I like this one. Don't think this...

Edinburgh & The Lothians Council Tender Services

To be fair, wouldn't the section between Newbridge and Gyle risk potential delays? It might help.

Edinburgh & The Lothians Council Tender Services

If that's all it is then it's at least better than nothing, an hourly service is still better than 90 minutes. Hope Lothian Country take the helm on this.

    Lothian Buses acquires Eve Coaches

I'm still wondering when they will finally announce the plans they have for Service 120/121 etc. I'm assuming now they don't allow ECB day tickets on these services.

    Lothian Buses acquires Eve Coaches

Just noticed on the diversion updates via the App. with the 124/X5 diversion in place in North Berwick also mentions Services 120/121 from Eve Coaches. I know Lothian obviously have bought Eve coaches but since the purchase we have heard nothing and this inclusion was very interesting to say...

Edinburgh & The Lothians Council Tender Services

I think the problem is that despite all those points, the backlash that was received when the proposed rerouting of the 13 was immense, most people consider the 13 a lifeline link, probably for the Lochend - Bonnington connection. Would the 13 in this diversion run the old 6 route to Hanover...

Edinburgh & The Lothians Council Tender Services

Border Buses is an interesting choice but can't understand why they would have bidded personally as it's out their reach. Guess we have to wait and see, I can see Lothian, Lothian Country, Edinburgh Coach Line or Prentice being the bidders

    Lothian group (Network/Route Speculation)

It's been a few weeks since the last service change, in an attempt to see revive this forum again I thought I'd ask, what do you think of the changes? and what they would do to improve upon them?

Does anyone know if they still put the occasional double decker on the 106 route?

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

That's why I also said Greendykes Road as a suggestion if that wasn't viable. Saying that, is Craigmillar Castle Road that tight for a bus? A single decker no less.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Just a penny for a thought in regards to the Cameron Toll diversion, the 12 is currently following the 2/30 route to Southside, would it not make more sense to have the bus divert via Craigmillar Castle Road and Old Dalkeith Road towards the Gyle so Kings Building and Causewayside aren't being...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I'm surprised that in the upcoming service changes they haven't decided to make the 25 diversion via Marionville Road a permanent change. It has been over 2 months since the diversion was put in place and I'm not sure what the plan is for Lochend Drive. Also, will the 4 ever return to Hillend?
