On Saturday these two diagrams are formed of Class 158's instead of the usual Class 333. The later diagram coupling with another 158 to form the 10:49 Leeds to Carlisle. Does anyone know why this is?

Presumably they don't want to fetch an extra emu off the depot just for one turn. Certainly not a shortage at the weekend.

The genteel folk of Ilkley get to enjoy the 2+2 comfort of the 158 too.

Strange at first sight, because normally an xx02 LDS-ILK is formed off the Bradford arrival at xx52-ish, but unit swaps at LDS are common.
Looking at RTT, it seems that the 0857 arrival ex Skipton goes off to Neville Hill, while the set ex BDQ forms the 0910 back there. Hence a spare unit is needed.
