This service was formed of a 125 set today. Is that out of the ordinary? I expected to see a 225.

Ah, right. The Guard said she didn't know the reason for the delay when she apologised for it over the PA

13.45 was also a 125. I had imagined that the 125 would be fully utilised on non-electrified routes.

I think what you mean is that you imagine HST sets to purely be used on journeys which run partly without wires? This isn't necessarily the case; a number of HSTs stable at Neville Hill and while some form services from Hull and Lincoln others form services to Kings Cross from Leeds. It's a case of effective diagramming. For example the 12.45 from Leeds does form the 16.00 to Aberdeen. The 13.45 from Leeds forms the evening Harrogate train.

That's exactly what I meant!

No train manager for 1D01 05.50 off the Cross yesterday too. Train ran ECS as 5D01 for its next working. Departed 12L but was 10E by Donny only to lose this in pathing & arrive RT into Leeds at 08.16.

I was in York yesterday and the 12.01 York to Kings Cross was a 125, standing in Platform 6.
The 09.30 from Edinburgh to KX, due York at 11.53 was slightly late and pulled into Platform 5. it was a 225.

At 12.01 precisely there was the unusual sight of a 125 and a 225, side by side, moving off simultaneously. It was great to watch!
