@RAIL- biggest airfix kit ever! Allegedly £1M worth of faux kettle.... seen at @GCRGreat today - looks pretty damned convincing
If that is true, it must be a big budget blockbuster being filmed.

I can’t get my head around it.I believe so yes.
For starting from scratch, I still don't understand why 'they' didn't go straight for something to replicate what they want, rather than replicate something done up to resemble what they want. I mean, I know it's someone else's money and they can spend it on what they want, but why? Unless it's an important plot point in a film that a British loco has to wander round France in disguise, I suppose.
Have a look at http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/b/bassenthwaite_lake/index8.html which shows how this Poirot mock-up has been installed at this former station NW of Keswick. There was a loco built from scratch a few years ago for a Poirot remake, possibly Murder on Orient Express? Think that loco ended up somewhere near Keswick. A mate of mine worked on the film and told me why they built it from scratch but can't remember reason. If anyone interested I'll try and find out.
The boiler of 70013 was still in the Lbro yard last week and the frames have been re-wheeled and are in the shed. So I think it is safe to say the "French" loco is not 70013.I can’t get my head around it.
Has anyone seen 70013 recently?
I think what @RichT54 said in the above post is quite plausible.

Understood. Speculating/ identifying/ discussing etc is so much fun/ challenge anyway. Thank youIf it is a very expensive film "prop", then I'm sure that all those who "know", will be subject to "Confidentiality Clauses" until the film is released. So we will just have to try and make (slightly) informed guesses!
Sorry - didn’t know how to quote, and it just came up in my feed... but the links below are the one I was referring toWhat did you search for, to find that? I tried a Great Central Railway search, but couldn't find anything related to this loco.
There'd have to be a time travel element as well, for a loco so obviously based on a BR Standard to have gone back to 1944. But I agree it's odd to base a "French" loco on such an obviously British design, and one from a decade later at that. For starting from scratch, I still don't understand why 'they' didn't go straight for something to replicate what they want, rather than replicate something done up to resemble what they want. I think my take on it is that one of the Brits was available to scan cheaply using a UK firm (bearing in mind the hassle of travelling abroad with a design team over the last few months), and accuracy isn’t all that important when you’re making a film as long as it looks ‘sort of right’ which to the average punter it probably will. There'd have to be a time travel element as well, for a loco so obviously based on a BR Standard to have gone back to 1944. Assuming it is purely a film prop, maybe it was built for an earlier film where it did appear as a Britannia? It would certainly be cheaper to add a few bits of platework to an existing replica than to build new.
That is quite true, bridge 341 is being replaced, but they are only closing that section from Aug 31st to Sept 14th (approx). They are also running the DMU set(s?) up to Mountsorrel.I don't know if filming is planned along the GCR line, I had it in my mind that an underbridge just north of Quorn and Woodhouse station was under repair, and that's why GCR services were only running between Q&W and Leicester North.
