Any pictures of the 24 stock in Northfields depot?
I went past today but no sign of it.Any pictures of the 24 stock in Northfields depot?
Same with 1967ts to 1983ts. But 1992ts was just 10 years apart so I think this type of thing isn't linear.Point to note re the upcoming comparisons of S Stock and 24ts:
They will be roughly the same age difference ( 13 to 15 years) as there A Stock and 73ts were. Did the 73ts feel generations ahead of the A Stock when new?
A more apt comparison might be 1996 Tube Stock, and S Stock.Point to note re the upcoming comparisons of S Stock and 24ts:

There were some but a TfL manager requested them to be taken down as they posed a "security risk". Make of that what you will, they were in Ealing Common sidings for multiple days..Any pictures of the 24 stock in Northfields depot?
It's inside the shed, so not very visible from a passing train.I went past today but no sign of it.
To me when I see the interior it definately doesn't look claustraphobic despite the small windows though the door windows allow a lot of light in. I think the rubber trim at the side of the doors remind me a lot of S stock, vibewise, also the seat armrests. These are some pictures of them at Ealing Common depot from yesterday https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1AFYN1HVY4/?
Probably because those press videos and photos were in the daylight^Yeah they seem much brighter than in videos where transport influencers like Geoff were invited to ride the trains on a press ride.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve done some tweaks since the press event. Remember that the trains haven’t entered series production yet, and this initial batch are still technically prototypes at this stage.Yeah probably. I wonder how different it would look in real life. The destination signs in recent pictures also looks clearer and brighter.
Additionally, there were two ’pre-production’ 09TS built for Metronet before the main fleet. What is a very rough timeline for the completion of the Picadilly line trains production at Goole? My calculations based on 2009 stock (~45 trains manufactured from ~Dec 2009 to June 2011) indicate that it may be some time in H2 2026 considering the start date in March 2024. However, I appreciate that I am likely missing more specific actual up-to-date production figures. I would suspect that the production rates are quite a bit slower vs. the 2009 stock due to 2024 stock still having quite a few months before it can even enter the service
They’re the ones you’re seeing in pictures. Serial production hasn’t started yet.I’m not aware of any dedicated prototype or pre-production 24TS units.
Have to wonder if these pre production units will share the same fate at the 09TS ones. They’re the ones you’re seeing in pictures. Serial production hasn’t started yet.
Can't imagine all of them will considering there's already been 4. Maybe the first 2. Then again in this economy would it really be wise to just scrap them? I think they'll probably be some of the last ones to enter regular service as they undergo modifications to match the serial production units.Have to wonder if these pre production units will share the same fate at the 09TS ones.

Were the 09TS pre-production units completely scrapped? I thought they were modified/rebuilt as 001-004? Or are 001-004 brand new units? Can't imagine all of them will considering there's already been 4. Maybe the first 2. Then again in this economy would it really be wise to just scrap them? It depends on your definition, not brand new, some parts were new, many other parts were reused. Although I think refitted or reworked would be usual way of describing themWere the 09TS pre-production units completely scrapped? I thought they were modified/rebuilt as 001-004? Prototypes are usually reworked to make them the same as the serial units. Were the 09TS pre-production units completely scrapped? I thought they were modified/rebuilt as 001-004? Or are 001-004 brand new units?
Interesting. Was the bodyshell of 001-002 significantly different to the production ones that they couldn't modify it?001-002 are brand new bodyshells at the end of the run with some component re-use. The original 001-002 spent many years at an MOD site before being blown up (literally).
003-004 were modified to production standard.

The wiring, cab, and TCMS were all extremely different.Interesting. Was the bodyshell of 001-002 significantly different to the production ones that they couldn't modify it?
The bodyshells themselves weren’t that different, but various modifications were made and the fit-outs differed significantly from the production versions. Ultimately it was cheaper to build two more production trains on the end of the order than modify them.Interesting. Was the bodyshell of 001-002 significantly different to the production ones that they couldn't modify it?
Any idea when series production might start?
