Abellio Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

In other news the 07.50 Harwich International to Cambridge ran throughout today (first time in ages?). Issues operating 755s in passenger service on the Harwich branch and round Manningtree North curve seemingly now resolved.
Class 755 availability shouldn't be an issue at the moment with the Wherry line blockade, but hopefully once services return to the booked timetable, the numerous rural line cancellations will be a thing of the past.

That's good. I make that the last piece in the regular diagram jigsaw for 755s except through running from the E.Suffolk to Liverpool Street?
And yes the pressure might be a little bit less at CP during the blockades, so fingers crossed going forward.

Haven't heard whether the 755s are cleared south of Mark's Tey yet. Caused several problems during the recent weekend enginerring blockades.

The paperwork we have in the PSB (version 18) says Class 755 vehicles are also compatible for both diesel / electric mode passenger operation in both directions on the following routes:
Liverpool Street to Trowse Junction...... so crewing issue maybe ?

No mate. Was week before last when trains Diss-Ingatestone and 755 allocated. Had to terminate and recess in up loop at Colchester as not route cleared. Happened several times over the two days.

Could ‘second class only’ actually mean the long term aim is to use these diagrams for Airport 745’s to get them to/from Crown Point for maintenance?

There are USAF E-3's (Awacs) based at Lakenheath. I have seen them fly south over the line after take-off. As a high power lookdown Pulse Doppler radar is fiited. And as they are still at a low height (5000ft), could the radar signal be having a effect at this low height.

Why would they have the main radar on at operating power whilst taking off and transiting to the operational area? Considering that they have to turn it off whilst air refuelling it’s probably better not to turn it on until at height!

Hardly neccesary to use 755s on the Nin90 service. Rather the preeceding northbound Norwich services could do with being diagrammed as 745's with a quicker schedule north of Witham.
Would a pair of 755s require two train managers / guards?

05:42 Beccles to Harwich was cancelled due to problem at the depot

The 05:35 Ipswich to Beccles passed Brampton at 06.57 which was 10 minutes late but called at Halesworth at 7.01am which was 38 minutes late, which suggests a turn around somewhere between Halesworth and Brampton due to a train fault, no record of it getting to Beccles.

The 06:23 from Beccles was then started from Halesworth due to the issue with the 05:35 ex Ipswich

06:20 from Ipswich was cancelled due to a problem at the depot.

07:48 from Beccles to Ipswich cancelled due to a train fault.

09:16 from Ipswich then got stuck at Woodbridge for 48 minutes due to another train fault.

Noticeable that also on a good few trains from Beccles to Ipswich there was no reported information until Saxmundham .

Another 755 failed on Ipswich to Cambridge too.

I think the 755 Ipswich to Cambridge would have been the same train as failed on the Beccles Line. The cancelled diagram was the 7.50 Harwich to Cambridge and return; this was the 5.42 Beecles to Hawrich train.

Out of interest - did the train stable at Beccles overnight? Reason I ask is that i can see the previous train arriving at Beccles at 23.25 - but can't see when it left the station - would this have been the 5.432 and a failed battery?

Yeah seen a few 3 cars through Attleborough. I guess it's planned to be 4 car but 3 car if there aren't any available for whatever reason. It's better than cancelling the train, and I've never seen a 3 car at "peak" times.

Currently on a 3-car on the 1757 off Stansted, which seems fairly peak...

I’ve seen a lot of 3-cars around on Norwich/Cambridge/Stansted the last few weeks, which is quite a disappointment compared to the capacity improvement that the 4 car sets offer, and we were just starting to get used to... What services are getting the 4 car sets instead?

10 days seems like an extremely long time, a 66 would be dead in less than 24 hours.
