Does anyone watch GB News? That ad "I had weight loss surgery because..." - aaarrgghhhh. I have to keep my finger on the mute button every time I watch that channel. It's a good thing it starts with "Hiyee" in a high pitched voice, gives me a moment to mute her!

(Apols if it has been mentioned, I haven't read the last 30-odd pages of this thread).

I see the Nat West advert "What you waiting for" is still doing the rounds and would as two questions...

1)... What is the part of the advert showing a weather forecaster and a large map got to do with what Nat West is trying to convey?

2)... Where the male teenager has a severe attack of flatulence, causing the paving stone under him to shatter, would Nat West be responsible for repairing the said paving stone?

Another current advert is the Lynx Epic Fresh male deodorant advert then seems to imply an application of that product has an attraction of sorts to you from people you pass by. One othe bargains that I recently picked up in the Wilko administration sale was a large 250ml aerosol of that product (it was the last one) and on my return home, gave myself a liberal spraying and then went into the Marks and Spencer store at Handforth Dean. I felt rater annoyed when not a single person that I passed in the store took any notice of me.

Zoe’s Bingo. This only seems to be shown on the That’s TV channel and on every ad break. It features a computer animated lady (Zoe) extolling the wonders of her game. Why couldn’t a proper actress be used? No fees for an animation I guess.

The crisp advert where they loop a second of someone eating the snack, the one where you see the woman's eyes repeatedly go up behind her eyelids is kind of ick.

I have seen a TV advert earlier today which shows a girl at an old style desk, using a typewriter. A clock on the wall activates and she opens the side desk top drawer and takes out a "Magnum Mini". Noting that she is lightly dressed, the room temperature would be such that the "Magnum Mini" would surely have begun to melt in the desk drawer, but the advert does not reflect that.

I saw that ad just 2 minutes ago, maybe a freezer drawer of sorts?

I think that the fact that the girl is using a typewriter and the desk is one of the wooden type that was in vogue as office furniture in that time period led me to make some research and I have not come across a standard wooden office desk that would have had a freezer drawer of the type that you suggest.

My grouse is that the bell goes 'ping' after carriage return is used. It should sound as a warning that CR will soon be needed.

The latest Curry's adverts showing staff growing beards / eating paper to acquire "knowledge ".

The money to produce these would have been far better if used internally to ensure staff had at least the bare minimum ability to understand customer service principals....practice may take some time to subsequently implement however.

The latest LG fridge advert irritates me intensely. What on earth is the point of having a fridge that requires two taps on the outside of the door in order to see what's inside?

It's just another thing to go wrong when the warranty expires!

Not wasting energy by letting warm air in when you open the door to look inside, which then needs cooling again?
Though if you can afford £1500 for a fridge-freezer, you can probably afford higher electricity bills.

A common mistake made by non-typewriter people, there was a recent software extension written to make your computer sound like a typewriter when typing which made this fatal error.

(I collect typewriters so i am glad i haven't seen this advert as it would no doubt annoy me  )

Brit Bingo on GB News channel. The actors/actresses grinning gormlessly as it someone has just told them they've won a million quid. I suppose they have to make it look like they are enjoying the experience otherwise nobody would bother signing up!

Most days on one channel or another is an advert for the Postcode Lottery, it drones on and on and finally in the small print at the bottom it says, not available in N.I.

I don't normally look at any of these 'general' threads, but this title caught my eye. The one advert that I find more unnerving than annoying is the National Lottery one with the gay men losing the ticket. Am I the only one that finds it unsettling because they look so much like brothers (or even twins!)? For sheer annoyance - Velux blinds is a winner.

The latest Pampers ad on TV shows the parents waking up to the dreaded body function sounds from their baby only to turn back over to get back to sleep - that's neglect!

AAARRRGGHHHH.... Christmas adverts have started!!!

It's not December yet!!!
Indeed. How thoroughly depressing!

It seems to me that certain types of products normally advertised in the run-up to Christmas have been pushed a bit earlier than usual this year - stuff like fragrances and spirits, for example.

Concerning the former, that "Daisy" advert has made a comeback.

Great! I hedn't seen any yet. The lights went on in Oxford St. today, so that means it has all started. Makes a change from the naff ads endured for the rest of the year!
At least the tv programming will include something different to the fill-ins we've had since the end of the school summer holidays.

It really annoys me that somebody has placed them in the ad list during breaks on television. Would not be surprised if there are a number of complaints about it…
There are complaints about advertising on all media programming, - if those who push to stop funding good channels from licence fees get their way, there will be no escape from commercial interruptions that devalue the quality offerings we still have.
