From the webcam trains are running to the pier head again but from https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/ only hourly. The walkway on what was the tramway pier looks to be open too. There still looks to be a compound so the station building may not be complete. The undercover waiting / seating area for buses is barricaded off so just the new small shelters for cover.

No doubt the car ferries are all running full to capacity but a big change from 1967 when on a summer Saturday 42 out of the 43 VEC-TIS cars were scheduled to run.

Only testing at the moment, and some 4 car formations have been up to Pier Head this week too. The tramway pier however is open and seemed to open rather quietly without little fanfare.

The line along the Pier is due to be open on Monday. The whole Ryde-Shanklin service has apparently been withdrawn this last week so that traincrew could do Refreshers for the line along the Pier.

There’s a BBC article explains it first opened just in time for the festival weekend, ie before 15th Jun, but then closed again for completion of snagging. Article includes photo of tramway pier in use:

I just saw a “refresher“train on the Esplanade Hotel webcam.

The next post after mine implies it might have been in service though.

It's running today along the Pier, I travelled on the 14:44 from Pier Head this afternoon.

It rather blurs over the tiny little point that it has taken over three times as long as originally planned. Nor does it mention that the same bit of line is expected to be closed again for (possibly) several months next winter or spring. Although, with regard to the progress of the two recent closures, probably both and a bit more.
