Hi there,
Need to (begrudgingly) spend £110 on a GWR round trip - flexible tickets.
Is there any site where I can get some kind of benefit in doing so now Nectar points gone.
Have been using CrossCountry lately due to no fee changes (or Avanti or LNER for their own journeys due to loyalty schemes) but journey is imminent so open to other suggestions.
Thanks.

Worth at least checking on TrainSplit (or the forum's site) to see if there's a split that makes things cheaper - inexplicably, this is sometimes the case even for flexible tickets.

You can earn 6 Avios per £ by booking through Transport for Wales via BA Shopping. If you have an Amex card, there's a reasonable chance you'll have an offer on it to get something back (the offer I've currently got is 10%) for bookings made on the LNER site.

There are sometimes good offers available for purchases on Chiltern or Transport for Wales on the cashback sites (Topcashback or Quidco) but there doesn't appear to be anything worthwhile right now.

You can get a fee-free refund if you choose ToD and don't collect your tickets, if you book through one of the GTR or Southeastern sites. Railsmartr offers fee-free refunds regardless of whether you choose ToD or e-tickets.

It may be possible to pay less than £110 if you buy split tickets - if it's a peak time journey to/from London with . There are a multitude of sites out there that will calculate this for you, but I'm sure you have already looked into that!

If you have a Lloyds account you can get 5% cashback with LNER or 3% with TPE.
