Any experiences of GNV ferries in Italy?

Anyone used GNV Grandi Navi Veloci ferries? Planning a possible escape to Sicily via Genova (20 hours overnight) or Napoli (12 hours overnight), and would be grateful for any tips. How’s the catering? Easy dis-/embarkation as a foot passenger?
Thanks in advance

Earlier in the year we travelled from Palermo to Genoa with GNV.

Overall a pleasant experience, but the port experience is tailored for vehicles.

The ticket said to check in at the port, but having found the office, we were redirected back to the quayside, where there was no seating or shelter. The sailing has been delayed by a couple of hours, and the cafe opposite the port was closed, but we found a street with restaurants about 10 minutes away.

On arrival at Genoa, it was about 20 minutes' walk to our hotel near the station.

On boarding the cafeteria was open serving hot meals, but with the delayed departure I saw nobody eating.

The ferry was lightly loaded; only about a dozen foot passengers. There was always plenty of seating available in the lounge/cafe-bar. Cabin was comfortable.

The cafeteria remained closed during the day, but sandwiches and snacks were available. The website said credit card payment only on board, but as the machine was out of order, it turned out to be cash only!

The sea was very calm.

You can buy WiFi access on board, but we didn't bother. There was some internet access as we passed Corsica.

I'd recommend it as long as you don't mind standing around watching cars loading.

Feel free to ask any specific questions.

Well here I am in Naples, nice and early for the GNV ferry to Palermo. The emails don't help you find the check-in desk/ticket office/biglietteria, and nor do the signs at the port really. So asked a security guy who pointed me in the right direction. X marks the spot. Close to where my ship the GNV Blu is docked on the attached map.
Forecast is for a calm crossing.
Food report later perhaps.

... the next morning:
Food in self-service was alright, serving from 1930, dead calm crossing, single cabin was fine but not luxury. They started announcing "time for breakfast" from 0600 for a timetabled arrival in Palermo of 0800! Breakfast is a choice of croissants or doughnuts (krapfen) or other sweet stuff plus various coffees.
Docked at 0740, foot passengers called down at 0830. Although some onboard announcements were in English, they weren't all that clear.
Exit from the docks was a case of follow your nose and avoid the HGVs.
Conclusions: no great problems, but initiative needed for wayfinding.
