I have been told that the following Gemini 2s are off down South, 4436, 4449, 4450, 4452, 4455, 4459, 4463, 4464, 4468, 4469 and 4470

It looks as if the plans have changed, as 4460 [MX61AXY] has now turned up at Maidstone, with hybrid 7011 going to ANW in exchange.

The return of the hybrids to Speke has seen their use mainly on routes 80 and 82 rather than route 79. Internal vandalism is believed to be the cause!

Seven of Spekes e400 in the 4681-92 range are on loan to Southport for trials on route 47 Crossens-Southport-Liverpool. A number of Pulsars have gone to Speke on loan.

The batch of nine new gas buses for Runcorn depot have entered service on route 82A, whilst the new BYD electric buses for Green Lane depot for the 26/27 circular services have now commenced delivery. Twelve are expected.

5012 and 5014 were noted on the 79C last week.

The new electric buses for Green Lane depot are to be numbered 7000-7011.

Five have been delivered so far.

So if the electric buses are 7000-7011 what numbers do the ex Maidstone Hybrid deckers carry?

They're going to be renumbered soon, but I'm not sure if they'll be before or after the 4800-50 batch of B5LHs (so either 4789-99 or 4851-61).

Where will all the extra buses that will be required come from?

ABW confirmed by Gwynedd CC (https://www.gwynedd.llyw.cymru/en/R...and-travel/Bus-timetables/Bus-timetables.aspx) as running the 1B, 82, 83, 85, 86, 88 and 91 taking over from Express Motors from Tuesday 02/01/2018. Wondering if the 1B will run out of Pwllheli or are they having the 1 from Bangor to Porthmadog and interworking like Express do now?

Note that some of those services are now going to be on a much reduced frequency. Bangor to Llanberis down fro, hourly to less than every 2 hours is one example.

Just up on the Arriva Buses Wales website is news of what we already knew with regards to the 1B, 82/83/85/86/88 and 91. However they are also advertising the '1NS' on Sundays ONLY providing an identical service to that of Express without the 2 positioning journeys from Penygroes depot.

They are also advertising two evening trips on the '1' from Caernarfon to Porthmadog (Mon-Sat) at 1825 and 2050 from Caernarfon and 1950 and 2145 from Porthmadog. So can we presume someone else is doing the day time service?

A hastily thrown together PDF as Garndolbenmaen is spelt incorrectly in one direction as Dolbelmaen and in the other as Garndolenmaen!

Oh and there is a fare increase from the same date!

So we now know there is no other replacement for the '1' with the two trips each way above all that remains. A revised T2 (all now Lloyds Coaches) is all that will get you along the old '1' route.

Pwllheli outstation appear to be working he new 1B as there is a new 0550 Pwllheli - Porthmadog and 2328 return on service 3 to position the bus for the 1B.

Enviro 400 4637 -45 are to transfer from Arriva Buses Wales to Merseysides Southport Depot. Transferring to Chester are Pulsars 3168-76 which were previusly at Bangor Depot and replaced last year by brand new Evoras. To date six of the nine transfers have taken place. Four of the Pulsars 3169-72 were at Speke Depot and have been replaced by Enviro 400 4570/71 and 4649/50.

What was the reason for this, Chester losing all deckers and Southport gaining more, presuming Southport routes (47) need higher capacity?

Chester doesn't need the deckers. Most of the trips on the 10/10A can cope with pulsars. Southport 47 needs the higher capacity (Not sure about normally but definitely during the summer).

First arrival at Southport - 4638. Not sure how many people here in Southport understand the Welsh message on the side!?! Note that Pulsars 3173 / 3175 remain in use in Southport at the moment.

[to comply with Forum rules, please take note that the attached photograph shows Enviro 400 4638 - CX15BXO - arriving in Southport after its first trip to/from Liverpool yesterday, 24 June 2024]
