Hi, just wondering if you could give any advice for passing the OPC tests? Can you recommend any practice material? Pushing on trying to peruse my dream in becoming a train driver and having a life long career in the railway. I'm in my late teens and constantly trying to get my foot in the door. Its a daily battle. Many thanks.

They’ll send you all the practice material you need so you don’t need to worry too much in that respect. The key is to focus on accuracy and speed and finding that balance! There is a huge amount of info on this forum in regards to all the specific tests so I recommend spending some time using the search tool - it certainly helped me a lot! I think there’s even a sticky thread at the top of this subforum with a download link so you can practice the dots test.

The same applies to the CBI/MMI interview. There is an immense amount of info on the forum so you can figure out what the key question areas will be. As you’re fairly young try and think outside the box in regards to responses to interview questions. Whilst you might naturally not have loads of job experience compared to other people, think about other areas of your life that could compensate for that. Ultimately they want to know you’re safety conscious and responsible enough to have hundreds of lives depending on you.

I've been getting a blank "Tell us about you" section to. Anybody found a way to fix it?

i Got the same thing so I decided to add an extra page to my cv as my cover letter and told them about myself on there. And that page is optional aswell so u don’t really need to fill it out

So has anyone actually done the OPC questionnaire? Or has everyone applied via the portal even though it says not to?

Looking at the advert earlier you don’t apply via the portal , you have to copy and paste the OPC link as it states in the advert and as firestarter has said

I did apply to both. Hope that doesn't eliminate me immediately as being unable to follow orders...

I applied using the OPC test only and got an email saying I would hear within 10 days. Not uploaded a CV or anything else, just the test.

Same here. Ammended my CV, as I'd tailored it for a TM job with Chiltern, but no option to attach it via the questionare. Great opportunity, good luck to all who apply

I applied once.. didn't read the OPC job preferences properly and answered what currently applied to me, lo and behold I failed. I then redid with my actual "job preferences" and got a different email, so fingers crossed I passed.
