Hi, just wondering if you could give any advice for passing the OPC tests? Can you recommend any practice material? Pushing on trying to peruse my dream in becoming a train driver and having a life long career in the railway. I'm in my late teens and constantly trying to get my foot in the door. Its a daily battle. Many thanks.
They’ll send you all the practice material you need so you don’t need to worry too much in that respect. The key is to focus on accuracy and speed and finding that balance! There is a huge amount of info on this forum in regards to all the specific tests so I recommend spending some time using the search tool - it certainly helped me a lot! I think there’s even a sticky thread at the top of this subforum with a download link so you can practice the dots test.
The same applies to the CBI/MMI interview. There is an immense amount of info on the forum so you can figure out what the key question areas will be. As you’re fairly young try and think outside the box in regards to responses to interview questions. Whilst you might naturally not have loads of job experience compared to other people, think about other areas of your life that could compensate for that. Ultimately they want to know you’re safety conscious and responsible enough to have hundreds of lives depending on you.
