Those last two were just taken on my phone. Yesterday's were with an SLR. I think you can notice a difference.Great! You must have a pretty good camera!

It is entertaining. Like the long-lost ancestor of the Pacers. There is a second one there too but the decision has been taken that it will only be restored as a static exhibit.K&WVR is a splendid railway. I must try to visit some time this summer.
That railbus looks interesting - I've never travelled on it, nor (to the best of my memory) even seen it.

Now that would be something!56065 Middlesbrough-Thornaby
Clearly the highlight of the entire two weeks!47406 0428 Crewe – Manchester Piccadilly
I recall that 1Fxx headcodes on the ECML were used for inter-regional additionals, so I guess it would have been a relief train, e.g. 18xx Edinburgh - Kings Cross (or maybe terminating somewhere short).MONDAY 20th APRIL 1981:
My notes tell me that we passed 37 036 at Berwick at about 19 10 hauling 1F52. Has anyone any idea what that may have been?
Thanks....that would make sense. Therefore I suppose that the 11 55 Edinburgh-Kings Cross relief, on which I travelled as far as Darlington behind 55 010 a few days earlier, would also have been a 1Fxx.I recall that 1Fxx headcodes on the ECML were used for inter-regional additionals, so I guess it would have been a relief train, e.g. 18xx Edinburgh - Kings Cross (or maybe terminating somewhere short).
The Class 37 gen site doesn't mention this service, but does include this entry for 37036 on this day:Thanks....that would make sense. The head code for the 1155 Edinburgh-Kings Cross was 1E52 on the day you travelled. (I have referred to Napier Chronicles).Thanks....that would make sense. Yes but no but ...The head code for the 1155 Edinburgh-Kings Cross was 1E52 on the day you travelled. (I have referred to Napier Chronicles).
Additional or relief trains between Edinburgh and Kings Cross normally used 1Exx and 1Sxx headcodes. Excursions or very late notice additionals would typically use 1Fxx codes. Hope this is of some help.
With all due respect to those Black Country residents, I think that statement applies to most people on most days!Another of those days where I now have no idea why I went to Wolverhampton.
Nothing recorded for 26th April in any of the moves books I've got, so I'll rewind a few days to 21st April 1979 when I appeared to go on The Woldsman LCGB Tour with the following... I was still only into spotting then, but from my class listings (and confirmation of route from the Six Bells Junction website) , I know I did this railtour. I probably joined it in Manchester. As a North West spotter, passing Tinsley and Immingham (possibly Toton?) would have got me a lot of "cops". Bit more interesting haulage than the Cans...

It's just over a year since I first contributed to this thread, so I suppose there's a good chance that I may start to become repetitive. Having said that, I've discovered some more notebooks since then....so hopefully there are still a few interesting moves to uncover. It's getting close to a year that I've been contributing to this thread in terms of haulage on this day in history. Around this time last year, I was just about to get some of my books back and on 26th April, I dropped back a few days and posted the following from
