How busy are the services to Holyhead from Birmingham New Street at the moment and return? Some have 4 carriages all the way, some split enroute.

Would have thought these services are quite popular for intermediary travel, rather than end to end tavel, like Birmingham to Wolves & Shrewsbury, Chester into North Wales, Wrexham - Chester & such, for West Midlands to North Wales most would be going via Crewe.

Although the Crewe route should be faster, by the time you've changed at both Crewe and Chester you'll probably find yourself on the TfW through train anyway!
Fares are awkwardly set between the two routes as well, at least from Chester (via Crewe is set by WMT).

Going to travel Birmingham to Llandudno changing at Llandudno Junction so just wondered as transport for Wales don't offer seat reservations.

Depending on time of day I'd suspect that they could be busy on some sections, quiet on others.

But you'd be very unlucky (or inattentive) to have to stand much.
