I bought an off peak day return ticket via East Midlands Trains back in January, I selected the 16:10 train leaving Nottingham, and for the return I selected the last train leaving at 22:22 from Birmingham to Nottingham, stopping in Leicester about an hour into the journey.

Upon receiving my tickets in the post, I've realised that the second part of my return only says Birmingham to Nottingham, there's no mention of Leicester. As it's an off peak ticket, it does say Route: Any permitted. Does this mean I can get the train changing in Leicester to Nottingham, or do I need to get the 22:10 train that goes straight to Nottingham?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I don't travel via train very often so I'm a bit confused as to what to do! :|
Thanks for any advice.

Nottingham to Birmingham is valid via Derby or Leicester. So you will be fine with that ticket.

Ahhh the party train as it referred to by some of my Colleagues :) You are aware there is a 23:09 from Birmingham to Nottingham in case you miss the 22:22?

As the OP mentioned the 22:22 being the last train I assumed they were probably referring to traveling on a Saturday.
