the new Lostock ATF isn’t actually due to be delivered until March.
How do you mean - do you mean with respect to bases, masts, cantilevers, danglies and wires?Has anyone checked the state of the Windsor Link recenty?
Yes. I don't remember seing it mentioned for ages.do you mean with respect to bases, masts, cantilevers, danglies and wires?

Although I must confess I am not fully up to date in terms of exact terminology but i walked the windsor link the other day so this is what i remember. From OLW/1 Liverpool Street to Windsor Bridge South Junction it appears that everything is there except the wires themselves. Not sure south of OLW/1 towards Ordsall Lane but i think they are there.
Brilliant pictures of the Yarrow viaduct and the flying arches! Many thanks to all involved.

... and is quite noteworthy for the view of the main station building not normally possible due to the platform canopies which are currently missing.
Has anyone checked the state of the Windsor Link recenty?
Hope they've changed the signage on the footbridge, if this is going to be a regular occurrence. Otherwise a crowd of annoyed Manchester passengers left on platform 3.Just been down on a Southport--Airport train. Everything appeared in place in terms of masts and "stalactites".
The most noteworthy part of the journey has been running into platform 4 at Bolton! In 25 years of travelling from the Southport and Chorley lines into Manchester, that's the first time I've ever run through platform 4 in that direction!
Did he mention whether the Bolton route would be open to electric traction in stages or in one go?I've just got back from an IET lecture at Preston. Dates confirmed by Project Engineer are Blackpool North open on 26/03/18 but for diesel only. Testing ongoing until 20/05/18 when timetabled trains start. Bolton route should be August 2018.
Did he mention whether the Bolton route would be open to electric traction in stages or in one go?
(e.g. could an electric service run from Manchester to Bolton but not Preston to Bolton?)
He said that the Bolton route would be open in August. By that I took it to mean throughout from Manchester to Preston.Did he mention whether the Bolton route would be open to electric traction in stages or in one go?

There must have been an issue as Platform 3 wasn't used from 3pm - 6pm and there was some part-cancellations - A Blackburn - Victoria started from Platform 5.Just been down on a Southport--Airport train. Everything appeared in place in terms of masts and "stalactites".

From the Twitter feed:I suppose you have all heard the lift shafts have arrived on site at Kirkham.
The new Footbridge also has Kirkham & Wesham in Large Letters on the frontBut they've not got 'Kirkham and Wesham' writ large on them - pity, I thought it was starting a trend..........![]()
To get it installed at the right station, or inform passengers as they arrive? The new Footbridge also has Kirkham & Wesham in Large Letters on the front
