My sister is commuting between Harrogate and home. This means she needs to get a First bus service in West Yorkshire to Wetherby and then the 7 into Harrogate.

Are there any bus pass options for such a journey? It seems as if she is able to get a number of pass options to get to Wetherby, but she then needs a separate pass to get to Harrogate! We’ve looked o the Transdec website and there’s a ticket for travel from Wetherby to Harrogate, but that still leaves her with the initial journey to Wetherby.

The train is out of the option.

Any ideas?

I don't see the point in going via Wetherby, it will just add time to the journey and will mean you will have to change from an X98/99 to a 7.

Better off just getting the 36 direct from Leeds, it's £7.80 day return (I think), £36 for a week and £105 monthly.

Going via Wetherby is going to cost £4.30 for a First Leeds day and then however much it is on the 7 (presumably more than £3.50).

Also, it depends where abouts she lives in Leeds. I think you can get cheap 36 add on tickets for certain First routes but not completely sure how they work.

Unfortunately, the only tie-in between Transdev and First that I'm aware of is the on mentioned in #2 which covers the 36 and Leeds City Centre, which was launched in 2016 (see http://www.harrogatebus.co.uk/news?newsID=1700 ). It's a pity the Transdev 923 (Otley-Harewood-Wetherby) isn't more frequent, although even then, the Harrogate Plus Zone covers to Harewood on the 36 and Wetherby on the 7, but not the link between...

There doesn't seem to be any joint ticket between Connexions, who also run Wetherby to Harrogate either, so it looks like two tickets is the only option, which is pretty frustrating in your sister's position.

The trip to Wetherby is a five minute bus journey and the trip to Leeds at that time is a 40 minute bus journey. That’s why I said she ‘needs’ to get those two journeys in the original post.

Any joint ticketing between Transdev & Connexions is wishful thinking at best!

I was referring to a joint ticket between First and Connexions (connecting at Wetherby).

According to the Transdev Go app a 7 day Wetherby-Harrogate ticket is £16 while a 28 day "Harrogate Plus" ticket is £58
