Cardiff to North Walsham

Hi all,

A relation is looking to travel from Cardiff (or Pontypridd) to North Walsham next week (out Wed 10th and return Fri 12th). The booking engines don't seem to be showing any advance purchase tickets and the cheapest I can find is the off peak return at £159.80.

The split ticketing website is giving me a headache so I said I'll ask the experts on here. What places would be good to split ticket to hopefully reduce the cost? Travelling via London.

Thanks,
W

That booking engine was giving me some weird results earlier. I was thinking more along the lines of non advance tickets where would be good places to split.

Changing the link upthread will give you a saving of up to £11 on flexible tickets.

If they can be quite time flexible, looks like a split at Manningtree is the best bet, with a Cardiff to Manningtree super off peak return for £107.60 and a Manningtree to North Walsham off peak return for £39.50. The super off peak return is quite time restrictive however, so do check that the times they're travelling at are suitable for the ticket - otherwise it seems as though the through ticket is the best bet.
