A WLL station (ideally with Southern, but viable without, ie. Hythe) - which is more about regional connectivity and accessible to inner West London (inc Shepherds Bush) and useful as a spread of traffic originating from the NLL. Now to stitch it up with GOBLIN ;)

Sorry to stray from the Central Line for a moment, but I can't help but think that if (current, or future improved) WLL Southern services from East Croydon could be connected to Old Oak Common to interchange with HS2 (and Chiltern) that would be a massive opportunity.

They're quite a small section of the market, at 1tph. And they will be: change on the WLL for the following LO that will call at Hythe Road. Otherwise, from East Croydon get a thameslink up to St Pancras and walk to euston (or change at Farringdon onto Crossrail to OOC). It's the southbound services that would be really good to link into HS2. Although that may be less relevant if MKC gets a decent fast classic line service to Birmingham and Manchester.

Yes, at the moment they are a small section of the WLL market - I just think that a direct link from East Croydon (and make it more frequent, only to OOC not all the way to Milton Keynes) would attract traffic. If quite a bit of the Southern region could have one connection at East Croydon that would be a good thing.
I know what you say about changing onto the following Overground service, but that's adding a change that puts people off.

I suppose travellers from the Southern region could change at Clapham Junction for the Overground - but there is that 8 million mile walk across the footbridge!

I accept it's one of those things that just doesn't fit nicely and realistically would cost too much or not benefit enough people - but it would've been good if it had worked!

Well I suppose you could add platforms at Willesden Jn on the Relief lines, but then you've either got a half-mile walk or another change. Fundamentally, I think people from Sussex will be more likely to take thameslink to either Farringdon for Crossrail or St Pancras for Euston if they want HS2. If they're not willing to change on the WLL chances are they won't want to change at Clapham Jn (the ECR-MK services exchnage a lot of passengers at Clapham Jn, due to it being all-stations south of there.) It's the south end of the WCML that it would be great to have the Crossrail link - to relieve pressure on Euston's Underground. But platforms at Willesden Jn on the WCML slows are a non-starter.
