Did you submit both tickets and enter the fare as £55.85? If so yes, they should have paid 50% of that.

Yes on both counts, so hopefully they come back with my full DR claim of £27.93.

One slight rider on that - did you travel on a proper itinerary i.e. leaving the correct time to cross London? I tend to find that it's possible to cross London very quickly compared to what is specified, and as such cross-London end to end journeys often give poor DR payouts.
