Cheddington Station - Up Slow Platform

The undersides of the platforms are held up with some scaffolding along the London end of the platform, whilst the country end seems to be crumbling away.

As the platform is on a raised level against the ground, surely this could potentially be a health and safety issue?

It was recently closed for a period to be shored up, so should be safe even if it looks dodgy.

Ah that makes sense then for the scaffolding. The platform surface is a bit wobbly in places though and quite bumpy.

Given it was closed for a couple of weeks and a replacement bus provided, it's presumably now safe to reopen. Presumably a full repair will follow at some point, but Cheddington is not going to be a high priority.

Has been dodgy for years the stairs down to the US platform from the footbridge collapsed in BR days under the weight of the morning rush. Which should give you an idea of how rotten they were.
