Just been informed of this:

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the great evacuation of children during World War Two, TPE are offering free travel to children under the age of 16 for one day only on Saturday 6th September 2014.

The evacuation of Britain's cities at the start of WW2 was the biggest and most concentrated mass movement of people in Britain's history. In the first four days of September 1939, nearly 3,000,000 people were transported from towns and cities to the safety of the countryside, many of them by rail.

To take advantage of the offer, children must travel with a fare paying adult and must be in a possession of a printed voucher, downloaded from tpexpress.co.uk: www.tpexpress.co.uk/tickets-offers/offers/ww2/

Terms and Conditions
- free travel on Saturday 6th September 2014 (00:01-23:59) only - must download and print a voucher from tpexpress.co.uk - offer not available on mobile devices - offer not available in conjunction with any other offer - one voucher entitles a maximum of two children to travel for free as long as they are accompanied by at least one paying adult (over the age of 16) - voucher must be presented upon request - proof of age may be required on journey and must be presented upon request - travel on First TransPennine Express services only - no seat reservations available - voucher will be available to download from 09:00 Thursday 4th September 2014 until 18:00 Saturday 6th September 2014 - voucher has no monetary value and cannot be exchanged - strictly one voucher per fare paying adult
