Hi All

Long time lurker, now newbie with a quick query. My better half as a return from Doncaster to Chorley (route Sheffield, which is the higher fare - set by TPEX I believe). Is it possible to return via Leeds, given this is a lower fare (set by Northern)? And if so how would she go about it, zero excess?

Thanks in advance for anybody who can help.

Gary

Yes.

Some train companies have a policy of not issuing zero fare excesses, so you may simply get to travel on the original ticket.

The excess is the same price (zero in this case) on board the train as it is at the ticket office. But if it's open and you have time, you may want to ask if the ticket office will issue a zero fare excess, as this could bolster your case in case of any problems with the ticket being accepted.
