I am looking at booking this journey through the Scottish Citylink website. This may seem like a daft question, but is your ferry fare included in the price paid to Citylink? The fare is only £28 so seems awfully cheap if it does but I can't find an answer on Stena Line or Citylink's website, which may just be me looking in the wrong place!

Yes, it does. And the train* is £33. Foot passenger fares are reasonable.

*in this case the "train" is a coach from Cairnryan to Ayr, then a train to Glasgow, so it's probably a worse option.

You can also try Hannons Coaches. They opeate the same route.

Not sure if Stena/ScotRail have started the coach between Ayr and Cairnryan yet. NRE seems to think it is running, Stena says not.

Ulsterbus also operate on the route.

I was going to go with Hanon as I could have left my bag on the coach however they have no availability on the date I am looking at :(

I'm not sure if the Ulsterbus service runs through. have seen it in Buchannan Street Bus Station a couple of times.

Hannons have recently upped there price on this service to £39 single.

The Citylink/Ulsterbus service you travel on the coach to Cairnryan ferry terminal were you board the ferry as a foot passenger. When you arrive at Belfast you leave the ship on foot. When you leave the terminal building turn right to the bus stops. There will be a bus that says 920 or 923 Belfast Europa bus centre.

Not seen the Hannons bus in Glasgow for a while , not sure if its resumed. Used a smaller coach with a full sized coach at peak times. Loads seemed to pickup for them.

The 923 is running , mixture of McCullochs and Ulsterbus coaches. Runs through to Edinburgh. These ulsterbus coaches are based in Stranraer.
