Does anyone have any imformation on why the Class 144 is being allocated to Heaton?
Are they going to be in service in the North East for a short while?
I believe Heaton drivers are being trained and signed for these units.

There was a thread about this in the last few days but I cannot find it. From what I recall from it they are being trained and signed purely for moves to and from Heaton as there is no space elsewhere for stabling. They won't be going into service in the area.

The 144s have always been based at Neville Hill. The 143s were allocated to Heaton when they were new.

144's have worked in the Heaton "area" before. I have seen them at Darlington and i think one used to be in use on the Esk Valley line. I assume they worked out and back form Neville Hill
