No I don’t think so, also I think 501 is not in its original formation eitherIs 501 originally 301 and therefore the first MK3 body shell EMU built?
Yes it was 317301. It was misformed with a vehicle from 317325 for most of its life. The two units were rammed at Cricklewood. 317325 took 77000 from 317301 and returned to service. 77024 from 317325 was repaired and went into 317301. 77048 of 317301 was written off and a replacement constructed. Is 501 originally 301 and therefore the first MK3 body shell EMU built?
Class 210 pre-dates thisIs 501 originally 301 and therefore the first MK3 body shell EMU built?
Scrap. As confirmed by Arlington.Eastleigh this time though, usually it's Newport. This could mean one of two things: scrap, as Raxstar are now done with the 313s, or further use such as conversion to barrier vehicles, as per the ex 508 carriages done at Eastleigh a few years back.
Scrap. As confirmed by Arlington.
317506 has been 'component recovered' and is now being scrapped. From yesterdays bridge observation 77053 already chopped, 71582 is at the scrap area, 62666 (the devils coach !) and 77005 down by the little shed. I suspect 71582 will be dealt with today, the other two may still be around over the weekend
https://www.facebook.com/ArlingtonFleet/posts/816896037104401The scrap line won't be empty for long! 317506 has arrived for component recovery and disposal.
Please note; NONE OF THESE VEHICLES ARE FOR SALE
Wasn't that a DEMU rather than an EMUClass 210 pre-dates this
Its going on right now. I could see the unit from the bridge yesterdayIs that something that is ongoing at the moment @Graham H or something that happened in the past, regarding 506?
Thanks
Thanks GrahamIts going on right now. I could see the unit from the bridge yesterday
Didnt realise they had worksplates. Where do they fit them as the sides curve down at the bottom so there doesnt seem to be any traditional chassis to bolt them toThe Arlington Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/ArlingtonFleet
This is the discussion of 317506:

You can get the works plate from a 317 at the Arlington eBay shop

Do the PEP bodies count? Original 2PEP and 4PEPs. Or, 1976's class 313s. I know those were aluminium bodies, rather than steel bodies of Mk3s / 317s / 455s / etc.Is 501 originally 301 and therefore the first MK3 body shell EMU built?

Similar construction method to the steel bodied units and Mk3 stock, though? They’re not MK3 based so surely not?
They're aluminium!Similar construction method to the steel bodied units and Mk3 stock, though?
I find the phrase "Mk3 body / build" a little confusing - other than 5WES 442 stock, I don't personally see similarities with Mk3 coaches and the other described classes.
Are you sure? I'm pretty certain they're all steel buildsThey're aluminium!
Judging by the amount of rust, I’d say you’re spot onAre you sure? I'm pretty certain they're all steel builds

Know it's off topic but 175s and 180s bear more than passing resemblance to a mk3, is that just coincidental? The body material and profile is a pretty fundamental difference though!
I actually get where you’re coming from here. Look at the roof and body profile though and you’ll see the similarities. The windows and doors on a say a Class 150 are obviously completely different to those on an HST coach, but they’re only windows and doors; underneath they’re the same (or very similar).
Just to confuse matters further, the Class 156 isn’t MK3 based, despite appearances!
I mean the PEPs.Are you sure? I'm pretty certain they're all steel builds
Yes, absolutely, that matches my post 1304.I mean the PEPs.

More in common with 156s and Mark 4s.Know it's off topic but 175s and 180s bear more than passing resemblance to a mk3, is that just coincidental?
