There was a new potential date in October (9th I believe) for introduction of the first 730 circuit to displace a 319 circuit however those plans may be pushed back due to industrial action taking place in the weeks before

Considering the amount of pushing back I wouldn't be surprised if they survive until the December timetable change

Does anyone know what october date the 319s are getting withdrawed, id like to ride one on the 23rd
I hate spreading rumours so don't take this as if its true but, I was told by people who work at LNWR the last day was today, the driver of one of the 319s earlier also said it was today but that they'd be kept around for spares over the coming weeks. We'll see what happens I guess.

Tonight only saw three out 319219 319433, with 319220 on the 1639 London Euston to Milton Keynes Central rather full,
All week 319220 was with 319217.
However suspect at least for next fortnight or so, some 319s will appear, until 730 finally do appear, if not on those x3 319 diagrams, especially the 1624 London Euston to Tring one, for example, severe overcrowding will occur, especially using a solo 350, and on other services, where the 8 car 350 is now a four car 350, to accommodate a 350 unit vice 319.
It's possible end of month that will be it,
However, my opinion etc, the next fortnight or so, 319s, most likely out on Stanby, just like 317s did on Stansteads on Anglia last year. Personally I don't think, there is enough units to go around. Plus in service passenger ie the 730s, also need to be reliable.
Don't forget they could fail. Hence 319s on Stanby.

It definitely wasn't today, some wishful thinking there from someone, somewhere.

Hmm, I did ask someone who works for LNWR too, they said they should be running on the 23rd of October, I’ve heard other people say this too. I guess when I go London on the 23rd I’ll find out. But I assume that their last day would be on the 27 (Friday) of October.

LNR are looking to withdraw two of the remaining 319s in November. 730s not ready yet to replace them.

This in an email to customers today.
What is happening?

As you may know, London Northwestern Railway is investing heavily in a brand new fleet of modern electric trains, which will very soon replace our ageing Class 319 fleet.

Before the new trains come into service, two of our Class 319 trains will be withdrawn from November, which means that passengers travelling between Hertfordshire and London Euston will regrettably experience shorter and busier trains for a short period of time before our new Class 730s are able to be brought into service.

For a number of reasons, including significant build delays caused by the pandemic and the complexities of introducing a new train fleet, it has not been possible to bring the Class 730s in as quickly as we would like. The Class 319s, which were due to be withdrawn before the summer, are increasingly unreliable and regularly cause short-notice service cancellations.

We are currently in the final stages of our work to introduce the Class 730s as a matter of priority, which will add much-needed capacity and significantly improve journeys on the route.

During this short period of time before our new trains have entered service, we advise customers to consider traveling at quieter times of the day outside of the morning or evening peak if possible. Customers can use our “How busy is my train?” tool on our website to help plan their journey.

We apologise that reliability and crowding on this part of our network has been a problem in recent months and we thank you for your patience while we focus on resolving these issues.

Yep, I talked to staff and they said 1st Nov. Luckily enough, I am on a 319 right now, for the first, and probably the last time ever. :)

Just be be pedantic, the wording in the LM quote is "from" November not "in" November - and wherever I have seen that wording before in other matters it implies (in this case) stopped from November => last day of October.

I don't have any more knowledge on this than what I read on forums like this, but right now I would not expect 319s to work beyond 31/10/23.

I know it said "two 319s" not all 319s, but, perhaps I am being cynical here, if you look at the most recent workings that actually occured, there have been only two 319s trains out even if one was 8car and one 4car; a little loose wording to cover up what they really are doing is means "we are withdrawing two 319 operated trains" not literally two 319 units.

Another point also set by precedent is unit leases often expire on the last day of a month. Just saying........

They also have to go through handback processes as agreed with the ROSCO so will often stop a week or two before lease end.

According to a post on Facebook 319 group pages, 319220 was pictured on a low loader and reported to be heading to a Mod Base somewhere for Mod civilian training exercises, it departed Wednesday 08th November 2023, in the morning, however please which Mod Base had it gone to, however 319220 has departed and left lnwr and has ended its career.

Im getting the feeling from what has been said in various discord servers and here (the 730 thread) is that the LNWR 319s last day will be Friday 24th of this month... Punch me if I'm wrong or if it's later or earlier...

The 730 thread https://www.railforums.co.uk/thread...very-test-updates.215134/page-43#post-6491986 suggests that one will work on the morning of Monday 27 November, to get it to Camden.

It would seem possible that any 319 working could be covered by a 350 in the final period, except for the movements to Camden. I saw 319214 on its own on the 2054 from Euston last night, but the 2106 didn't look like one when it passed.

Having looked at the Camden Railcam tonight, the 2054 was a single 319, but the 2106 a single 350.

At the end of Oct/ start of Nov, I saw the following in service:
319214, 319217, 319220
319457
As noted above, it appears 319220 is now withdrawn.

Are there now just three left in service?

319220 was withdrawn and took to a mod depot, early on this week around 05 to 06 November aa reported on the 319 Facebook pages, 319215 is Stored out of Service still at Northampton.
However
Friday 10th November 2023 1. 1554 2T49 London Euston to Tring was 319457 319219.
2. 1624 2T54 London Euston to Tring was 319214.
However 319219 and 319457 arrived on Thursday 09th November 2023 on the 2142 Northampton to Bletchley C.S.
Thursday 09th November 2023 also featured
1. 1624 2T54 London Euston to Tring.
2. 1554 2T49 London Euston to Tring with
319217 319433. Presumably at Bletchley for now.
So that means as of end Friday 10th November 2023 we still see 319214 319217 319219 319433 319457 still in service x5.
But subject to change any day from now.
However until 2nd diagram gets started ie 730, it's just possible the two remaining 319s diagrams could be x2 319 with one spare.
