My son used to have 5 minute changes, now the crossrail trains depart as it pulls in! This is peak times mind you maybe different off peak?

Just checked - peak has added 10 mins, off peak added 15 mins. Right pain for the regular TV commuters!
The gaps in service do look odd at certain times of the day. There also seem to be a lot more Maidenhead services first thing as well, and fewer Reading services.

I was on an Elizabeth line service from Heathrow T5 into Paddington yesterday. On the final run into Paddington the set of doors I was next to lit up a red symbol and the display screens said that the centre doors would not open at our next stop. Shortly before arrival the red lights went out, but the entire train's displays crashed and showed a white screen. Just as the train stopped , the red lights on the doors came on again and we had to move to other doors to get off.

What would cause train to decide not to open the centre doors on one carriage?

I am being lazy by not looking through 164 pages of their thread. Is there a list anywhere with approx dates of the 70 units as to when they were 7 made up to 9 cars.

Any info appreciated

There are broadly speaking two groups of units which operated as 7 car units, the rest of the units were always 9car. The first group was introduced on the Shenfield line: 003,005-017,022. These units were the most recent to be extended:
Former 7-car units in East (In order of conversion to FLU). Date units moved to Old Oak for conversion to FLU (reported, 2021,2022)):
345 010 Yes - moved to Old Oak 17 April 2021. Reported 9-car May 2021 at Old Oak. Reported as tunnel test unit June 2021. Passenger service West side
345 008 - Moved to West July 2021. Extended to 9 car August 2021.
345 005 - West August 2021 - lengthened to 9 car August 2021.
345 006 - Extended to 9 car at Old Oak 16 November 2021
345 007 - Reported as 9 car at Old Oak 29 November 2021
345 022 - Extended to 9 car at Old Oak 9 December 2021
345 003 - Extended to 9 car at Old Oak 7 January 2022
345 009 - Extended to 9 car at Old Oak 28 January 2022
345 013 - Extended to 9 car at Old Oak 14 February 2022
345 014 - Extended to 9 car at Old Oak 2 March 2022
345 011 - Extended to 9 car at Old Oak 16 March 2022
345 012 - Extended to 9 car at Old Oak 22 March 2022
345 015 - Extended to 9 car at Old Oak 31 March 2022
345 016 - Extended to 9 car at Old Oak 14 April 2022
345 017 - Extended to 9 car at Old Oak 28 April 2022

The other group of units that was previously 7 car were additional units to cover 7 car operation to Reading, although these units also moved between East and West, as did the other 7 car units.

Former RLUs extended from 7-car to 9-car (reported) in order of conversion.
345 028 October 2019 confirmed November 2019
345 055 May 2020
345 059 May 2020
Some units then shortened back to 7 car:
345 063 9 car 18 April 2020, 7-car 27 June 2020
345 064 9 car May 2020, 7-car June 25 2020
Units extended to 9, not operated 9, then reduced back to 7, :
345 047 June 2020 extended to 9 but reduced to 7 again in 2 July 2020
345 057 June 2020 extended to 9 but reduced to 7 again in 15 June 2020
Units later extended for second time:
345 047 15 January 2021 extended to 9 for second time
345 057 ~22 January 2021 extended to 9 for second time
345 063 March 2021 extended to 9 for second time
345 064 - STILL 7 CARS

DATE of conversion back to FLU:
345 047 9-car from January 2021
345 057 9-car from January 2021
345 039 9-car from February 2021
345 052 9-car from February 2021
345 064- Moved East as RLU February 2021
345 051 9-car from March 2021
345 020 9-car from March 2021
345 040 9-car from March 2021
345 049 9-car from March 2021
345 044 9-car from March 2021
345 063 9-car from March 2021
345 029 9-car from April 2021

345 038 - Extended to 9 car at Old Oak 8 May 2022

There is also 038 which was amongst the last 4 remaining 7 car units. The other remaining 7 car units are 042, 056, 064. 038 is now in operation as 9 car.

Train 069 was cited in the BBC2 documentary as a dodgy unit. Has anyone had any issues with it since it came into service?

At which point? Surely not recently? It was a test unit for a long time so perhaps it was set up differently at the time of filming and is now standard along with the other 66 9-car units.

There is discussion about the failure of 345003 at Plumstead on the Class 701 thread - where is it now and what is happening to it please?
Just trying to tie up loose end here. I've got the following observations on 345 003:
Last seen 10 May East
Last seen 11 April West
I have not observed 003 in service on COS.
Can only assume that 003 is still not back in service?

003 back in service today at Paddington on a Reading service.

003 and 004 are the only units I have not travelled on in the central operating section. I have seen 004 operating however. Has anyone seen 003 Operating in the central operating section?

Two of the remaining intermediate cars were delivered to OOC last week so one of the three 7-cars due to be lengthened presumably.

I seem to recall some of the other (4) intermediate trailers are at OOC so perhaps it just means there is space to store them there (not surprised tbh). Fingers crossed and hopefully the ones I am thinking of where long enough ago that they have already been inserted in units other than the last three.

The other four intermediate cars have also now arrived at Old Oak Common from Worksop.
So that is all six intermediate trailers at Old Oak Common. I note another thread says through running starts in November so I assume that means the short platform 14 at Paddington will no longer be needed. So I hope it follows that by the end of the year the last three short 345s will have become full length. Fingers crossed.
