Granted the 376s arent a young fleet but they are still considered mid life and still have alot in them. The 707s are only aroumd 7 years i think? And also very modern compared to the 365s as well.I don't consider this to be good news. It means they'll be retained long term in lieu of one big order covering the full Metro fleet, which would have been so much better in many ways.
I'd chalk it up to Angel Trains having agreed to invest (unclear if partially or fully) in the provision of toilets, where as Eversholt is contributing the amount written in the lease agreement for the mid-life refresh only.Interesting. Does that suggest the 707s have a long term future on SE, but the 376s don't?
Another missing feature is DOO cameras. If only the Networkers are replaced then all the platform monitors on 376 routes (basically all Metro that doesn't go out of Victoria) will still have to remain, which will be a relative waste for supporting only 36 units. The 376s have other features missing and are unlikely to be off lease with significant life remaining - assuming they aren't replaced in the current procurement any potential next one is unlikely to have trains built until mid 2030s.
To be fair, that would give you more space than you get in some of the non-accessible loos on other stock...Southeastern Railway to address the issues surrounding the lack of toilets on the Class 376...

We won't be seeing blue 376s for a while, if ever, what with the GBR new livery and all that. Even so, I thought the refurbishment wasn't starting for a few months.I still haven’t seen any blue 376s yet, but there seem to be a few running around looking much cleaner and whiter than usual on the outside. Even missing the usual branding and carriage numbers, so something might be going on.

It was meant to start 'in a few months'... A few months ago. Really the first refurbished ones should be entering service about now, but we've heard nothing except that the ex-Southern 377s are going to be wrapped as well.Wasn't it originally meant to start last year?
Replace it once a customer complainsCan't argue with that! The only question - where does the waste go?![]()
Yes, but I don't know if that's just for the 377s or if it applies to the 376s as well.Didn't the MD or a SE rep say that materials have been ordered?
I presume that these drags aren’t now happening?I was on RTT earlier and noticed that the class 376 refurbishment drags have appeared on RTT for most Saturdays. It has been said elsewhere that the refurbishment will start after the June timetable change. The drag has appeared for today but will inevitably not run.

Given they’re being done entirely in house they were never going to happen. These drags are a hangover from the 375 refurbs and the path hasn’t been deleted out the system.I presume that these drags aren’t now happening?
How long ago was that now??? Might as well leave them in for the next refurbishmentGiven they’re being done entirely in house they were never going to happen. These drags are a hangover from the 375 refurbs and the path hasn’t been deleted out the system.
That's a base coat in preparation for vinyl wrapping. It has to be left for a few weeks to go off fully before wrapping can take place apparently.I still haven’t seen any blue 376s yet, but there seem to be a few running around looking much cleaner and whiter than usual on the outside. So I just saw SE uploaded a video, titled “Class 376 gets a refresh”, with the thumbnail of a blue 376.
Unfortunately the video was privated soon after
376033 ApparentlyFirst unit has been repainted… (sorry covered up in vinyl blue). Sorry for the abysmal quality- screenshot I was sent.
Why even bother with the vinyling with the inevitable GBR coming along.. and yes, toliets at least would be very welcome.Amusing. New paint alone. No air con or toilets.
Bizarrely 465161/901/466006 are allocated to thatCan confirm that the unit is in service today. Just seen it on arrival into Waterloo east.
