What’s that mean
The LNR branded 5 car units are Class 730/2.

Probably will not be in service until 2025.Yep, and running not a million miles from me especially if I visit my pal in Halewood from where I can almost walk to South Parkway.
I've been told by someone who sighted it that it was 004 and 045 on that move today. My last update of 004 was of it going to Loughborough in July so presumably it moved back to Derby some time after that!I think the above is meant to be 048 because 004 left many moons ago. Probably a typo.
Gotcha sorry, looking back it's obvious now what you said, blame the tiredness (nights!!) cheers. The LNR branded 5 car units are Class 730/2.
Is a move to Loughborough for mod work?37601 730103

I do still have 048 as being at Derby though
004 moved to Derby on 27th October as 5Q57 11:11 Loughborough Brush - Derby Litchurch Lane, it was booked to head to Oxley last week but the move was caped and that's why it subsequently moved today.I've been told by someone who sighted it that it was 004 and 045 on that move today. When I last went past 048's cars were dotted about the site 2 were visible from Litchurch Lane, the other from Osmaston Road. I'll try and get over there in the next couple of days and have a look.

What will make them take so much longer than the /0s?Probably will not be in service until 2025.
Only a few have been built. Testing and driver training has not even started yet. The first 730/0 was constructed in 2020 and they have only just entered service, so 2025 seems about right. What will make them take so much longer than the /0s?
Would the 730/2s enter service in early 2025?Only a few have been built. Testing and driver training has not even started yet. The first 730/0 was constructed in 2020 and they have only just entered service, so 2025 seems about right.
730001,002, 003, 004, 007, 008, 009, 010, 011, 012, 015, 027, 102 and 103 have all been to Brush,Can anyone say which 730s have been to Brush Loughborough ? A scan though these pages shows up the following:
730027 Output from Brush Works 18.04.23:
730102 Believed to be at Brush 11.05.23:
730103 To Brush Works 14.12.23:
730004 Output from Brush 27.10.23:
Are there any more and are details of movements of those quoted known?
Of course the works is not opperated by Brush anymore and has not been for a long time, but my understanding is that the place is still called "Brush Works" - just as a location name.
730048 on Derby Litchurch Lane Test Track this afternoon. Thanks for the info both
They’re not planned to be introduced into the Cross City line replacing the WM 323s for around 4 or 5 months, so there’s a bit of a wait, though the first 323 has been sent up north, at the expense of more common short forms on the Cross City.Wading through the above posts it hard to see which units are in service earning revenue. Is there a list somewhere?
As a Northern person I'd be interested as to what has to happen to release the promised much needed 323s to Northern.
Thanks
K
The "Train Database" (Despite being a spreadsheet) is a good resource for easily getting an idea of what's in service thanks to the colouring.Wading through the above posts it hard to see which units are in service earning revenue. Is there a list somewhere?
Do you know when 002 went to Loughborough please?730001,002, 003, 004, 007, 008, 009, 010, 011, 012, 015, 027, 102 and 103 have all been to Brush,
If you type "Active" into the Search Fleet bar at the top, it will list all numbers that have carried passengersAlso https://www.ukraillog.co.uk/fleet-data/emu/730 is worth a look at, but it's a bit harder to quickly figure out which units are in service (although you can search for them) through the traction search.
Would they need as much testing as the /0 given they are only a new subclass? I suppose they are specced quite differently.Only a few have been built. I’d imagine type approval will be faster, though the 730/0s got theirs quite quickly. The main thing that’ll help speed up introduction will be that a large amount of traincrew will already sign the 730/0s, and so will only need a conversion course, which shouldn’t be too extensive, at least I wouldn’t have thought.Would they need as much testing as the /0 given they are only a new subclass? Only 14 days left. No.Do you think they could be in service this year?
Sorry, I meant 2024.Only 14 days left. No.
They haven't changed from those previously posted as far as I can tell, other than being renumbered - see https://www.railforums.co.uk/thread...very-test-updates.215134/page-43#post-6491986 and https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/class-319-lnr-withdrawal-date.250424/page-2#post-6414844Has anyone got the current 730 diagrams please?
There is at least 6 730/2 complete sets in-between the buildings, sadly unidentifiable and three or four driving cars from other ones in the yard, one in particular is from 221. There is also a number of non driving cars from 720/710 and 701 sets visible form London Road. Thanks for the info both
All class 710s are in London at last and also c2c has all their 720/6s. So I think any unidentifiable cars will be for 701s, 720/1s, 720/2s and 730s.There is at least 6 730/2 complete sets in-between the buildings, sadly unidentifiable and three or four driving cars from other ones in the yard, one in particular is from 221. I reckon you're right there Peter but at the time of writing I didn't know that all the 710's had finally left Litchurch. All class 710s are in London at last and also c2c has all their 720/6s. So I think any unidentifiable cars will be for 701s, 720/1s, 720/2s and 730s.
Its taken so long. And I still think in a blink of an eye one of 710270 or 710374 could still get dragged by a force field back to Derby or Worksop (it has happened before) !.I reckon you're right there Peter but at the time of writing I didn't know that all the 710's had finally left Litchurch.
