will the 730s be maintained at oxley and soho depots when they enter service between 2022 and 2023?
The 730/1s and /2s will also be maintained at Kings Health and share the space with the remaining 350s

They will plug the gap once the 319s are gone followed eventually by the 350/2s
I think they are just at Oxley for testing, I think Soho will be there main base
Not sure Soho will have the space for a 5 car train?

It’ll likely be a similar arrangement for the 350s with the 5 car units - stabling/light maintenance as and when required at Soho following use on routes ending in the West Midlands.

I also take it a joint team of Siemens and Alstom will therefore be based at Kings Heath to accommodate this arrangement?

Yes. 730001 saw at barnt green also approximately 3 weeks ago on test on solo workings also called and tested the doors.
Just maybe possible and potentially we could also just see 730101 and 730103 on test maybe? Very soon in lnwr green now they are at oxley.
Especially as 730003 only arrived Friday the 10th December 2021. And straight into testing.
AIUI there are three class 730 variants. 730/0 are 3 car West Mids units to replace the 323s. 730/1 and 730/2 to augment the 350s and replace the 350/2s.
Are the 730/2s going to be the same green livery as the 730/1s ?

When I was at kings health 2 years ago they said the existing team would be retrained to able to maintain both the 730/1s & /2s alongisde the existing desiros like they did for the 319s after LM brought them in years ago.

Plus the majority of LNRs fleet will still be desiro though even when the full fleet of 730s are in.

And considering this will not be the first time kings health have had to maintain 2 different families of train. I just cant see a joint team being required.

Sohos shed can only fit 3 carriages afaik, I'd imagine they be maintain the 730/0 fleet since they are replacing the 323s.
Not sure what happening with the sites rumoured at Bescot and Duddeston.

Good afternoon running around 85 minutes late after a operational incident with a lnwr service at walsall.
529L hauled by 37611 and Van's took through coleshill Parkway 730001 back to old dalby.
Does anyonehave a update list please off the 730s latest locations.
Many thanks.

I can't answer your question unfortunately but this stock movement has just gone past me, having reversed at Melton Mowbray, currently at the ground frame at Melton junction heading to Old Dalby.

My records are slightly different in that my last recorded move of 730002 was back in May when it moved from Crewe CS to Litchurch Lane - do you know when it moved on to Old Dalby please?

Also, I have 730102 as being at Old Dalby having moved there in September

Yes 730102 is at old dalby did move in September. Witnessed through derby like the 720 on the other thread approximately 30 minutes or so before 365 x2 units went to booths masboro for scrapping .

Good evening. Today on the 533U 0915 Derby Litchurch Lane to Oxley Depot, Move was 37611 with 37510 taking 730005 for delivery complete with numbers and west Midlands trains livery and branding. 730005 is now at Oxley Depot.
However another move also occurred which was 1050 5Q30 Derby Litchurch Lane also to Oxley but hauled by Gbrf.
However 5Q30 was held in four ashes loop for nearly two hours then, diverted via the Wolverhampton avoiding line from bushbury Junction to oxley Depot.
Not going via tame Bridge Parkway or Wolverhampton. So due to this couldn't get the identity off the possible 730 unit for this move.
Anyone in the know or any further information to update further on this thread is kindly appreciated thank you.

The unit was 720572, don’t why it’s gone to Oxley though.

The 730/0s were authorised to be placed into service by the ORR yesterday.
