A semi-rural part of north-west England
We next move to England for the next journey.....

This is number 1615 in the series so far.....

It then follows the line of the Bradford and Thornton Railway...via Manchester Road
It then follows the line of the Halifax and Ovenden Junction Railway...via Holmfield
It then follows the line of the LYR Halifax to Sowerby Bridge Branch Line...via Copley
It then follows the line of the Manchester and Leeds Railway...via Sowerby Bridge (1st station)
It then follows the line of the LYR Copy Pit Line...via Stansfield Hall
It then follows the line of the Blackburn, Burnley, Accrington and Colne Extension Railway...via Huncoat (1st station)
It then follows the line of the Blackburn and Preston Railway...link line only, no closed stations
It then follows the line of the Lancashire Union Railway...via Feniscowles
It then follows the line of the LNWR Wigan to Eccles Line...via Platt Bridge
It then follows the line of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway...via Weaste
It then follows the line of the Manchester and Leeds Railway...via Miles Platting
It then follows the line of the Ashton, Stalybridge and Liverpool Junction Railway...via Park
It then follows the line of the LNWR Micklehurst Loop Line...via Staley and Millbrook
It then follows the line of the Huddersfield and Manchester Railway...via Diggle
It then follows the line of the LYR Penistone Line...link line only, no closed stations
It then follows the line of the LYR Holmfirth Branch Line...via Thongs Bridge
The journey ends at the closed station of Holmfirth

The first closed station on this journey is Lofthouse and Outwood

Not so, as the second line of the journey preamble of that of the Bradford and Thornton Railway, which we will access after leaving Laisterdyke.
I know I say this about a fair few parts of our rail system; but this is one which I often find a struggle !
