When we left Oldham Clegg Street at the end of the first line of the journey, we then took the connecting line past the stabling points and goods yards that took us to the LNWR Oldham to Greenfield line, where the first closed station to be met was the short-lived Oldham Mumps LNWR railway station. Any mention made just of Oldham Mumps without clarification is normally specific to the long opened Oldham Mumps LYR railway station.

In response to make the journey preamble more helpful to the thread contributors, each line to be traversed as shown on the journey preamble now has station guide notes which should prove helpful and I have noted that fact on the March 2024 rules update on the very first posting on this quiz. Oldham Mumps LNWR is indeed shown on the current journey preamble.

Ignoring Moorgate Halt, as that was only served by the Delph Donkey train services......very much like the situation with Saltney Ferry on the Mold Railway which was never served by train services on the Chester and Holyhead Railway.

Not so, as that station was on the LYR Ravensthorpe Branch Line.

We are still on the LNWR Manchester to Leeds Line, awaiting one more closed station on that line, before we take the GNR Batley Branch Line.

The station that seems to defeat everyone was situated in-between Dewsbury and Batley on the LNWR Manchester to Leeds Line.

It is Staincliffe and Batley Carr.

We will now access the GNR Batley Branch Line.
