Hi guys,

I'm looking at booking railway tickets from Olomouc to Ostrava. There is the 17:51 Pendolino which apparently costs 69czk or £1.85? seriously?

Am I missing something? can I pay on debit card, do I need a physical ticket? or Czech trains do I have to include a seat reservation?

Normally there is a 200 CzK (I think-about 8 eur) surcharge for the Pendolino-it includes some snacks or drink and a fixed REServation. But I think it is waived for such short endofline sectors not touching Praha.
Normal full-fare CD 2nd cl is about 1,3 CzK/KM. Or about 1 eur for 18-19 kms.

You can book a point-to-point ticket on line at cd.cz (in English) and get an e-ticket emailed to you to print at home.
There is also a day ranger for the whole of CZ for only 550 CZK - about £15.
I think this is only bookable at stations.

You can buy the national day ticket online, along with smaller regional ones:

Online tickets require ID confirmation during ticket checks - which, for most of us from outside that country, means our passport. You need to put your passport number in during the online booking process.
