It will also run with a GBRF Class 69 for part of the journey to/from Derby.

DCRail is a national freight operator and part of the Wimbledon based Cappagh Group of Companies, which specialises in providing civil engineering, material supply and transport solutions for infrastructure, construction and utility projects. With a customer base of some of the UKs biggest users of rail, DCRail focuses on bulk freight markets such as aggregates, industrial minerals and construction soils. Rail is increasingly important to all the companies within the Cappagh Group with a developing network of rail freight facilities including three rail connected concrete plants, and its innovative rail-based supply chain solutions have been recognised by four industry awards for excellence in recent years.

From a rail enthusiast perspective, DCRail is well-known for its fleet of hard-working Class 56 and Class 60 locomotives, and we are delighted to announce a special charity railtour with their traction at the helm, visiting some rather sought after track! Our train will be operated by our friends at GB Railfreight.

Starting out from Derby, a GBRf Class 69 will first take us in to Chaddesden Yard, often used by DCRail to stable their locomotives and wagons. Our Class 69 will run round and then take us down the Midland Mainline to Bedford, taking both the Corby and Sharnbrook diversionary routes. At Bedford, we will take the Marston Vale Line to visit our first freight destination, Forders Sidings. We will then continue to Bletchley and then follow the West Coast Mainline to Wembley Yard, where our Class 69 will be replaced with top 'n tail Class 60s from the DCRail pool. Skirting around West London, we will reach London Waterloo for our final pickup before heading off to Chessington South Coal Depot, our second freight installation which has recently been repurposed by Cappagh for construction traffic, and then the seaside! There will be an afternoon break of around ninety minutes in Brighton, proving ample time to stretch your legs and enjoy some sea air. We then retrace our steps back to Wembley via Waterloo, where our DCRail Class 60s are replaced with a pair of Class 56s for the journey home to Leicester, via the East Coast Mainline! The Class 69 will work once again on the final leg from Leicester to Derby.

I doubt there'll be much difficulty in selling this one out especially as it's for Martin House Children's Hospice, the track being covered and, I believe, three of the four 60s which may not have been used for passenger haulage before

A couple of news articles from WNXX yesterday and today, DCR/Cappagh have announced a new 3 year loco servicing contract with UKRL developing on from the one signed in April 2022, exams, maintenance, overnight servicing, train care and fuelling will all continue to take place at the UKRL Leicester facility. Secondly 56091 remains in store at Leicester presently but is still a part of the DCR core fleet pending resources being made available for the loco, work is underway on 60099 at UKRL Loughborough with the engine and alternator away for overhaul along with other components recovered from the stored 60s, further locos are currently being assessed
