Delays on the tarka line today (10/12/22)

Good afternoon hive mind, I’m currently sat at eggesford, waiting for the northbound service to arrive, however it hasn’t moved in nearly 40 mins, and I was wondering if anyone knew what was up? It was slow this morning with lots of delays because of a failed train at topsham, and the white stuff.

That’s a spot of bad luck, cheers for that, now to decide if I walk to chumleigh and wait for a bus, or hope they can get is sorted soon

It seems the 1214 Ctl / Barns term at MRd 1255 due tree down on line somewhere between M Rd and Egges
the 1235 Barns then term Egges arrd 1308.

Hundreds of passengers, many being shoppers to Exeter, long distance travellers and Exeter football supporters will have had their plans for today ruined, this time by NR Management failure to address the known ND lineside tree problems and associated risks to passengers and damage to trains.

NR ‘tree removal specialist team’ thought to be based in Taunton as that is the NR PW depot that remotely covers the North Devon line ( luckily Exeter PW depot cover the Oketon line) finally and an unsatisfactory response time, arrived by road on site (about 1700 according to NRES.)

The North Devon line performance and reliability in the last several months has increasingly suffered mainly from single line Token problems, trees on line and unit problems/failures.
