An announcement on District Dave's forum which any London Underground fans will be aware of, states that District Dave has died peacefully at his home after a long illness.

It's sad to see such a great asset to the online railway community go like this.

RIP Dave.

That's a shame. I'd only recently discovered his site and forum but thet were brilliant.

I had the pleasure of working with him on the District Line, and he was a true gentleman and will be sorely missed.

I have passed on the suggestion on the forum to name an S7 Stock train after him to the District Line senior management, I think it's warranted.

This is really sad news, I never knew or met the man but I enjoyed his humourous and detailed accounts of his work on the District line. :(

Sadly i have never had the chance to meet him in person although i have seen him when i went to the acton work open day a few years ago. I agree that it would be a nice idea and a fitting tribute to name one of the district line trains after him.

I agree with you! He was very humourous and did some great accounts.
