Good luck to everyone who has applied for this role.

I'm in the rather fortunate position of having previously been a psa for 5 years and now a mainline driver for Greater Anglia. I can tell you that psa's earn every penny of that 37k!

There is a hell of a lot more to the job than what people see. If you can handle being in with passengers all day long, standing for long periods, checking tickets, being in the firing line all day then the job is for you. It's not a bad job at all and I enjoyed my time there. Just prefer to be in a cab these days! You are licenced to drive the dlr trains too. You learn basic traction, you have to find faults, manually drive the trains in the depots and in the event of failures.

Be patient if you have applied, they do take their time with recruitment.

Depends as they are recruiting lots of different roles both external and internal in the run up to the Olympics so I guess its all down to how quick HR get told by the person who interviewed you and then get in touch really

The next day....

I went to the January one and was unsuccessful at interview and was told the next day via email.

My brother went to the most recent one end of Feb and was called the next day informing him he was successful and giving him a start date.

Sorry guys....

Resurrecting an old thread.

I was wondering has anyone heard back from Serco, also if one is unsuccessful would they receive an email confirming this?

I've chased up HR and have been told that short-listing is still in process yet some of you have already been invited to the assessments!

Good luck to everyone that applied.
