Running significantly late on the journey back, 35L past Winchester as of writing.

Due to an issue between Dorchester and Weymouth I think. I was on the train and I believe all Waterloo trains were cancelled out of Weymouth at one point. We did however catch up some time due to being routed out Fast Line at Wembley vice the booked slow but lost that time again due to an axle counter failure at Birmingham International with the driver having to pass a signal at danger.

Nice photos. Quite rare to get that back platform loop for anything loco-hauled in my experience.

i think it was the far platform as there seems to be a broken rail, so i heard at brockenhurst as all trains get routed through platform 1 and platform 2 hasnt been used for a couple of weeks now as the rails have gone all rusty

Yes, broken rail been showing in OTT for a while now. AIUI there's nothing booked to overtake in the current timetable so trains can be worked around with a small delay but not catastrophic. Presumably at some point a cyclical possession will come up that will allow the rail to be cut out and replaced.
