Tonight the Drax Flyer passed through Altrincham pulling a 2nd loco, which I didn't get the number of. There were no attached limestone wagons.
Recently I have seen a number of locos-only going through Altrincham (for years I've been used to seeing the 'ICI' trains going through so it's often noticable when just a loco runs through).
My question is this: are the locos just doing the Northwich-Buxton route or are they re-positioning to another location?
I have been interested in the Limestone trains for years and now I'm becoming even more intrigued by the routeing of the trains.
Many thanks,
Altrincham.
